BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB
The Associate Infrastructure Technician is part of 24/7/365 coverage team with the primary function to provide 1st tier onsite customer and technical support to customer requests within the Service Level Agreement time frame. This is NOT a remote position.

WORK SHIFTS
Associate Infrastructure Technicians work a scheduled shift to provide 24/7/365 coverage to support a data center(s) within assigned market.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Data Center Escort Services or Access Request
Welcoming and escorting of pre-approved scheduled vendor or visitors to SAP's data center.
- Hardware Diagnostics
A physical hardware examination, to include the recording of any external error / status indicators which may help in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues more efficiently.
- Cable Inspection and Replacement
Properly inspecting and replacing defective networking cables.
- Power Cycling
In the case of a frozen or hung device, power cycling refers to turning the device's power off and then on in order to get the device to function again. It is only with written approval from SAP that the device can be power cycled.
- Inspecting and Reseating Power Cables
Following proper steps to safely remove, inspect and reseat power cables.
- Network Connectivity Checks
Checking network connectivity to include checking Network connection activity lights, firewall status lights and physical port availability on any Data Center device.
- Equipment Retrieval from Receiving Area (Inbound/Outbound Shipments)
Moving one or more packages, parts or pieces of equipment from a delivery area to a specific location in the Data Center. This will include handling occasional outbound shipments as well.
- Insert Media and/or Attach External Device
The receipt of a type of media or hardware to insert or attach to equipment found at the datacenter. This service is required to update software, copy data, perform a migration or investigate problems. The Associate Infrastructure Technician is only responsible for the client-owned media/hardware installation – not copying or migrating any data.
- Validation of Asset, Rack, Networking, Power Port availability
This is a visual inspection and confirmation of an asset, the asset location, network port(s) and electrical connection available.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Management
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School degree or GED equivalent required.
- Previous data center experience and/or network cabling experience a plus.
- Any IT certification(s) a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business/professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Ability to write reports and/or business correspondence a must. Ability to effectively present information and respond to; questions from customers, email communications, ticketing systems, and/or other teammates required. Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Must have the ability to work in a team environment and present a professional image. Must be able to multi-task and be flexible with assigned work schedule. Ability to utilize MS Office applications effectively is a must.

- While performing the duties of this job, the teammate is regularly required to; stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop and kneel.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus due to computer work.
- Moderate to heavy, repeated lifting is required; up to 50 lbs. Working in cramped environments are common.
- Use of ladder for such tasks as the installation and cabling and/or data center hardware.

- Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, data center and printers, light traffic).
- Ability to work in a confined area.
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
-MUST be able to pass a criminal background check
-MUST be able to pass a drug test
-MUST have reliable transportation and valid DL
-MUST be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
The base salary range for this position is typically $23 to $24/hr with additional bonus and benefits available. However, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, including experience and location, and we will also consider candidates outside of this range as necessary
