Schedule: Onsite in Austin, TX Monday-Thursday. Fridays are remote (normal business hours) 
Compensation: DOE; range is $140,000-$160,000 a year salary plus a quarterly bonus structure + full benefits

 

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Microsoft Identity Engineer to support and enhance enterprise identity infrastructure across Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and related authentication platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering, migration expertise, troubleshooting, and strategic infrastructure improvements to ensure secure and reliable identity services.

You will serve as a subject matter expert for Active Directory, authentication technologies, identity security, and directory services while supporting modernization and migration initiatives across hybrid environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Active Directory migration projects, including cross-forest migrations
  • Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Active Directory environments
  • Manage Group Policy for servers and endpoints
  • Support and troubleshoot authentication technologies, including ADFS, Kerberos, LDAP, and token-based authentication
  • Migrate users, groups, computers, and other directory objects between domains and forests
  • Administer and support Microsoft identity services in hybrid environments
  • Partner on identity modernization initiatives involving Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, and cloud platforms
  • Perform Active Directory health assessments, remediation, and optimization
  • Manage Windows Server upgrades and lifecycle activities
  • Support disaster recovery, capacity planning, and infrastructure improvements
  • Handle multiple concurrent projects and operational priorities

 

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of experience administering and engineering enterprise Microsoft Active Directory environments
  • 7+ years of experience with Active Directory design, implementation, migration, and troubleshooting
  • Deep expertise with:
    • Active Directory
    • Group Policy
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • DFS
    • Windows Server
  • Strong understanding of authentication protocols and identity security
  • Experience troubleshooting replication, authentication, and directory services issues
  • Experience serving as a Domain Administrator in large enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 identity and security best practices
