Automation Engineer - Remote

By joining Insight Enterprises as an Automation Engineer, you will enter a tech savvy and highly collaborative world.  We provide the hardware, software and support-services for our customers' most critical IT projects.  As such, we're looking to hire three automation engineers to help modernize some manual tasks at a rapidly growing, very successful, gaming company.  Our customer's title has been relevant and popular globally for 10 years.  The growth has caused many things to remain manual.  There is significant buy-in from the teams to automate these processes, you will be seen as a hero to the people you engage with every day.


Please note, this is a 6-month cotract-to-hire role and is 100% fully remote. The target compensation range for this role is $80-$95/hr, on our W2.  We are unable to sponsor for this role.


What you will be doing:

  • Build automated solutions and expand the automation capability within IT
  • Partner with the IT Operations team to identify and execute on opportunities to automate high-value/high-cost tasks
  • Collaborate across groups to assist with incremental goals driving coverage, speed and maintainability across the test automation suites
  • Be an advocate for productivity, identify ways to influence productivity through effective automation strategies
  • Working in a Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) environment using tools like Bamboo, Jenkins or similar


What you need to join:

  • Solid understanding of information technology as it relates to building automation including experience collaborating and communicating with other IT personnel.
  • 5+ years in scripting and automation in any language, but PowerShell and Python are ideal
  • Excellent knowledge of the software development lifecycle: build, test, deploy and release management with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Communication and leadership skills
  • Experience in computer science or engineering
  • Preferred experience in working with one or more of the following: The Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Trello), AWS, GSuite, GitHub, Airtable
