BI Data Engineer Sr

TX, US

  1. Design, develop, troubleshoot, evaluate, deploy, and document data management and business intelligence systems, enabling stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions
  2. Build secure, highly available, fault tolerant, scalable, and cost-effective data solutions using big-data technologies like Spark, Python, PowerShell, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL server, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and implement business intelligence best practices
  3. Work with business customers to understand the business requirements and implement solutions to support analytical and reporting needs
  4. Design and build complex BI reports, scorecards and dashboards, based on specifications as requested and harness creativity to render information useful in data storytelling, designing and planning for solutions in the various engineering subject areas as it relates to data storage and movement solutions: data warehousing, enterprise system data architecture, data design (e.g., Logical and Physical Modeling), data persistence technologies, data processing, data management, and data analysis
  5. Knowledge of all aspects of the EDW:
    1. ETL, metadata layer, presentation layer, security/administration, user support and production support
    2. Develop and Integrate Advance Analytics Solutions using Machine Learning Algorithms
    3. Deploy and Develop Data/Machine Learning Microservices solutions
  6. Lead complex reporting projects Automate processes using ETL and scripting best practices
  7. Work with the following data tools and technologies:
    1. SQL Server Analysis Services and DAX Reporting Services
    2. Self-Service -BI Tools: Power BI
    3. Azure: Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Warehouse and Azure Data Factory
    4. Azure Big Data Technologies: Azure Data Lake and Azure Databricks
    5. Scripting ETL solutions using one of the following (Python, Java, PowerShell)
    6. Linux through a terminal
  8. Translate requirements into clean, efficient and quality code.

 

Salary:                                              Available upon request

Work Schedule:                             40 hours/week

 

Job Requirements:        

 

Education Requirements: Master’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, or closely related

Experience Requirements: 2.5 years of experience in job offered, Sr. Consultant, or closely related

 

Special skills requirements:

 

  1. Experience building secure database/data warehouse which are highly available, scalable, stable, and cost-effective data solutions using data storage/processing technologies like AWS-S3 storage technology, Azure VM’s, Azure SQL server, Azure Data factory, Alteryx, Python, Power BI, PowerShell, vb.NET, and business intelligence best practices
  2. Experience consulting, designing, developing, troubleshooting, evaluating, deploying, and documenting data management and business intelligence systems, in order to enable clients to manage the business and make effective decisions for Go-to-Market strategy
  3. Experience working with business customers in understanding the business requirements and implementing solutions to support analytical and reporting needs
  4. Experience conducting training sessions to train teammates in Alteryx tool to perform self-serve data analysis
  5. Experience performing data analysis and creating reports using Microsoft Power BI reporting services
  6. Must have certification in Business Intelligence
