Position:                                          Cloud Platform Engineer

Job Duties:

1. Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable cloud and hybrid-cloud infrastructure solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as GKE, BigQuery, and Compute Engine.
2. Architect and implement Infrastructure-as-Code automation using tools such as Terraform and Ansible to enable repeatable, immutable environment provisioning.
3. Build and manage CI/CD pipelines utilizing deployment strategies such as blue/green and canary releases, leveraging tools including Jenkins, CircleCI, and Spinnaker.
4. Perform workload migrations from on-premises data centers and other cloud environments to GCP, including provisioning target infrastructure and executing low-downtime cutover plans.
5. Collaborate with client engineering and operations teams to gather business and technical requirements, translating them into scalable and cost-efficient GCP architectures.
6. Monitor and optimize cloud environments for performance, cost, security, and availability; troubleshoot and remediate issues across compute, storage, and networking layers.
7. Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks to support system deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
8. Provide technical support and continuous improvements to existing cloud environments, ensuring compliance with best practices and evolving project requirements.
9. Position is based out of Chandler, AZ HQ but telecommuting is permitted on case by case basis.

Job Requirements:        

Education Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related. Employer will accept an advance degree in the same field.

Experience Requirements:

• 12 months of experience in job offered, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Software/DevOps Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, or closely related.

Special skills requirements:

1. Experience delivering continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, utilizing techniques like blue/green and canary deployments, with tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, TravisCI, and Spinnaker.
2. Experience with networking, VPNs, compute infrastructure (servers, databases, firewalls, load balancers).
3. Experience in architecting, developing, and maintaining production-grade systems in virtualized environments.
4. Experience migrating complex, multi-tiered workloads from on-prem to the cloud, including provisioning the target infrastructure and executing cutover plans that minimize system downtime.
5. Experience delivering immutable infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt and Packer.
