Director of Financial Reporting

Position Overview

The position is primarily responsible for supporting the SEC Reporting Department’s role in ensuring the Company’s periodic public filings are in compliance with SEC Rules and Regulations and United States generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”).

What you’ll do at Insight

  • SEC Reporting
  • Support SEC Reporting Department in drafting Earnings Releases, Conference Call Scripts, Investor Presentations, including Investor and Analyst Conferences, and supporting analysis as well as Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q, Annual Reports on Form 10-K, Current Reports on Form 8-K and Proxy Statements.
  • Pro forma prior drafts of documents, updating and populating disclosures for review.
  • Coordinate with Finance teams in the Company’s differing geographies and operating segments to obtain necessary financial information for disclosure.
  • Stay current on changes to SEC and GAAP disclosure requirements for the Company’s periodic filing.
  • Prepare quarterly certification package documenting the source of every number disclosed in the Company’s periodic filings with the SEC, ensuring a consistent standard of clear and concise documentation.
  • Demonstrate a keen attention to detail to assist the SEC Reporting Department in ensuring the consistency of all financial information reported or disclosed.
  • GAAP Accounting Research
  • As directed, research certain new or proposed accounting pronouncements to determine effect or potential effect on the Company’s current accounting treatment.
  • Assist business with complying with accounting pronouncements.
  • Draft memos for file on application of accounting treatment for material transactions.
  • Prepare consolidation, including statement of cash flows.
  • Prepare budget to actual financial information to be reported to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis.
  • Support Insight Enterprises Inc’s compliance with SOX 404 requirements for financial reporting, including administrative assistance in support of the operation of the Disclosure Committee
  • Provide assistance with special projects as requested. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily with an exceptional attention to detail.

 

 

What you’ll need to join Insight

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting from four-year college or university.
  • Certified public accountant (“CPA”) designation required. 3+ years of broad-based financial reporting experience.
  • Recent experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm, with particular experience with publicly traded or large corporate companies.
  • Strong US GAAP accounting skills, including experience in researching and documenting accounting rules and their effect on specific companies.
  • Exceptional communication skills as the position requires significant interaction with all levels of staff, senior management, finance, and other business professionals within and outside the Company.
  • Strong organizational skills as the position will be responsible for accumulating, organizing and documenting key financial information that will serve as the Company’s books and records in support of publicly disseminated financial information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; Workiva; SAP BPC (or equivalent consolidation tool); Workday; key board and 10-key skills.
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Detail and deadline oriented.
  • Ability to proofread/review own work and provide a work product that is free of numerous typographical or administrative errors.
  • Team contributor with an energetic, proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Experience with multinational companies, a plus.
