Sr. Engineer
Hybrid: 3 days a week onsite in Phoenix, AZ
Pay $120k-$130k depedning on experience
The Engineer Sr is accountable for the end-to-end technical delivery of complex network modernization and refresh projects, ensuring solutions meet client requirements and organizational standards. This senior role encompasses the planning, design, implementation, and ongoing management of complex network environments—including LAN/WAN, data center, cloud, and wireless architectures. This role focuses on execution excellence; designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale network upgrades, ensuring solutions meet client requirements, organizational standards, and industry best practices. The Engineer Sr leads technical teams, manages risks, and provides clear visibility to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery Leadership

Own the planning, design, and execution of network refresh projects, including LAN/WAN upgrades, hardware replacements, and multi-site deployments.

Ensure technical solutions meet defined objectives, timelines, and quality standards.

Lead formal change control processes by evaluating scope modifications, assessing impacts on technical deliverables, and maintaining alignment with project governance.
Design & Implementation

Develop high-level and low-level network designs, migration strategies, and implementation plans.

Configure and implement network hardware (routers, switches, analog voice gateways, UPS) across client locations, including pre-deployment staging, configuration, and testing.

Conduct network closet audits, document hardware and cabling, and identify remediation needs.

Apply best practices for scalability, availability, redundancy, and security in all technical solutions.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for project communications.

Act as technical lead when working with a team

Provide timely updates on technical status, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership and clients.

Mentor and train engineers and project personnel involved in the network refresh.
Risk & Quality Management

Implement structured risk management processes to anticipate, assess, and mitigate technical risks.

Define and enforce quality standards for all technical deliverables, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Operational Support & Documentation

Support endpoint testing, update as-built documentation, create final deliverable package, and provide day-2 support to ensure network stability post-deployment.

Conduct knowledge transfer and finalize operational turnover documentation for client teams.

Perform other duties as assigned related to network modernization and refresh.
Required Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Networking Certifications relevant to enterprise networking and large-scale deployments:
-
CCNA, CCNP required
-
CCIE, CWNA, CompTIA Network+ a plus
-
Experience with other technologies a plus: Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.

Experience with Catalyst Center a strong plus.
Experience

5–7 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, preferably with large-scale, multi-site projects.

Experience with network modernization, hardware refresh, and large account environments.
Skills

Strong technical governance and delivery expertise.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Solid understanding of networking technologies and industry standards.

Proven ability to lead teams, mentor others, and coordinate complex deployments.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing project requirements.

Willingness to travel and work onsite as required for deployments and project milestones.

Ability to manage multiple high-impact projects and clients simultaneously.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.

Ability to work in a confined area and sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.
