Location: This role is fully onsite at our Chandler, AZ headquarters five days per week. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for maintenance activities that cannot be completed during normal business hours.

About the role  

The Maintenance Technician II supports day-to-day operations at Insight’s headquarters and serves as a key resource for central plant monitoring, building systems, inspections, compliance documentation, and teammate service requests. Working closely with the facilities team, this role helps maintain critical infrastructure while learning the facility’s specialized systems, controls, and processes.

 

What you’ll do at Insight 

  • Conduct daily central plant walks, identify abnormal conditions, and help maintain safe, reliable facility operations.
  • Monitor building automation and control systems; respond to alarms, alerts, and operating issues.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, elevators, lighting controls, shade controls, and related building systems.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for facility-related issues and provide responsive, professional support to teammates throughout the headquarters building.
  • Manage and assist with ServiceNow requests, facility tickets, room setups, meetings, events, and other service needs.
  • Perform preventive, routine, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other facility equipment and components.
  • Maintain permits, inspection records, water-management materials, and other required compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities, inspectors, contractors, and vendors as needed.
  • Help develop, document, and maintain operating procedures, maintenance processes, and facility records.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team, share coverage during high-demand periods, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities and projects.

What we’re looking for 

We are looking for a hands-on, service-oriented teammate who is motivated to learn complex facility systems and grow within a collaborative team.

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school training, technical certification, or an associate degree in facilities, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Hands-on mechanical, engineering, HVAC, or other trade experience supporting facility systems and maintenance operations.
  • Ability to analyze operating conditions, troubleshoot issues, and safely use hand and power tools while working around mechanical equipment.
  • Strong internal customer-service skills and the ability to communicate professionally with teammates, vendors, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate, assist others, and provide coverage during staffing shortages or high-demand periods.
  • Strong documentation, organization, and follow-through, including the ability to maintain accurate permits, inspection records, procedures, and compliance materials.
  • Adaptability, learning agility, and a positive attitude toward learning unfamiliar systems, controls, and facility processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple service requests and balance technical responsibilities with frequent teammate interaction.
  • Experience with building automation systems, building controls, or automated lighting and shade-control systems is preferred.
  • Experience supporting a large commercial facility or headquarters environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, elevators, water-management programs, and related central plant equipment is preferred.
  • Experience with Trane systems or similar building-control platforms is a plus; expertise in every system is not required.

The base salary range for this position is typically $50,000 to $65,000 with additional bonus and benefits available. However, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, including experience and location, and we will also consider candidates outside of this range as necessary.
