Product Owner, ServiceNow

Position Overview

Insight’s investment in ServiceNow as a strategic platform for our services business is growing and driving our need to welcome a new teammate to global Digital Solutions team. In this role, you will work with various internal teams and clients to understand business needs and translate them into roadmap items for our global ServiceNow deployment. You will work on a team of other ServiceNow Product Owners representing other Insight organizations to align on processes, functional requirements, and priorities. The team of product owners drive continuous platform improvement and the enthusiastic adoption of ServiceNow by our teammates and clients.

This role requires the ability to imagine a vision of product excellence, the criteria to measure its success and translate it into stories delivered to a technical team for implementation.

What you’ll do at Insight

  • Work with your assigned stakeholders and other Product Owners to define a strategy for how delivery teams will most effectively leverage ServiceNow in service to our clients and teammates
  • Be a stakeholder advocate. Champion the client experience
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with clients and Insight teams globally
  • Be a ServiceNow product expert. Understand in detail the product from a client’s perspective
  • Understand and communicate the product landscape to assigned stakeholders
  • Provide vision, direction, and clarity to the development team in service to internal stakeholders
  • Capture new stakeholder demand in user stories and epics using INVEST framework.
  • Prioritize outstanding demand with the development team
  • Ensure prioritization of deliverables align with the product strategy
  • Ensure the backlog of outstanding demand is well enough defined for the development

team to properly prepare and estimate effort.

  • Work closely with the development team and stakeholders to clarify requirements
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of

release/sprint goals. Work with internal teams to satisfy dependencies

  • Perform demos/sprint reviews with your assigned stakeholders
  • Work with internal teams to find new opportunities to make better use of the product
  • Work with stakeholders to help drive better adoption of the product
  • Assist with planning product release schedules and setting expectations for delivery of new

functionality

  • Define success criteria for major feature sets. Measure and present results
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

 

What you’ll need to join Insight

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Detailed ServiceNow product knowledge (especially ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Service Portal, and Knowledge Management)
  • Experience authoring and refining user stories in a scrum backlog
  • Must be a polished and disciplined communicator (both written and oral), with confidence necessary to lead recurring meetings with senior leaders.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must have excellent relationship management skills
  • Must have the ability to multitask with strong organization and time management skills
  • Professional Scrum Product Owner certification is a plus
  • Experience as a Managed Services Provider, Consulting Firm or System Integrator – is a plus
