Location:

  • You’ll have the flexibility to work fully remote from anywhere across the United States.

Salary: $10k/month

As an SQL Server Subject Matter Expert with Insight, you’ll be a passionate self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment, pay attention to detail, contribute to conceptual discussions and decisions, thrive working in both independently and in a team environment, as well as the ability to set timelines and estimate the work required to complete a task.

 

This role is within our Residency Offering, which is a solution that provides strategic technical resources to our customers on a contractual basis.

As an SQL Server SME, you’ll get to:    

  • Provide Enterprise level support and administration focused specifically on Power BI, Power BI Embedded, SQL performance and tuning optimization, Clustering, Always On Availability groups, High Availability.
  • Illustrate extensive experience with Power BI embedded skills, Power BI solution design, PBI embedded development skills, and Performance optimization skills
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on SQL Server (2012 and onwards), Power BI, DAX, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL DB.

  • Power BI Solution design and embedded development
  • Data modeling and database design , data warehouse concepts
  • DAX, Power Query M Language, development and optimization
  • Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop skills
  • Data connectivity best practices to SQL, Oracle, MySQL, Azure, AWS and other services
  • Custom visualizations
  • Power BI Row Level security along with other Security features
  • Indexing strategy   
  • Performance Optimization and Tuning Capabilities 
  • Partitioning data implementations 
  • Database schema creation and management
  • Ensuring High availability and Disaster recovery
  • SQL code reviews with ability to dissect query plan, T-SQL code 
  • Data Encryption 
  • Auditing 
  • Replication of data  
  • SQL Edition and version differences with discontinued and deprecated features 
  • Upgrade process
  • Storage management techniques 
  • Data Engine Capacity planning
  • General database management, Policy based management    
  • Extended events and Traces 
  • Basic Licensing and support scenarios 
  • Windows Failover Clustering
