Role Overview
Location: Monday–Friday, onsite across the Phoenix area (travel to multiple client sites required)
Salary: $90,000 – $135,000 a year DOE, plus full benefits
Senior Field Network Engineer owns the end-to-end technical delivery of complex network modernization and refresh initiatives. This role encompasses planning, architecture, implementation, and operational support across LAN/WAN, data center, cloud, and wireless environments.
As a senior technical leader, this role drives execution excellence—designing, deploying, and stabilizing large-scale network upgrades. The Senior Engineer leads technical teams, manages risk, ensures adherence to standards, and provides clear visibility to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery Leadership
- Own the planning, design, and execution of network refresh and modernization projects, including LAN/WAN upgrades, hardware replacements, and multi-site deployments.
- Ensure all technical solutions meet defined objectives, quality standards, and timelines.
- Lead formal change-control activities, evaluating scope modifications, assessing technical impacts, and maintaining alignment with governance requirements.
Design & Implementation
- Develop high-level and low-level network designs, migration plans, and implementation strategies.
- Configure and deploy routers, switches, analog voice gateways, UPS systems, and related hardware across client sites, including staging and testing.
- Perform network closet audits, document cabling and hardware, and identify remediation needs.
- Apply industry best practices for scalability, redundancy, high availability, and security.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for project communications.
- Serve as technical lead for project engineers and field personnel.
- Provide clear, timely updates on technical status, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to strengthening team capabilities.
Risk & Quality Management
- Implement structured risk identification, assessment, and mitigation processes.
- Define, enforce, and validate quality standards for all technical deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with organizational, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
Operational Support & Documentation
- Support endpoint testing, update as-built documentation, and produce final deliverable packages.
- Provide day-2 support to ensure network stability following deployments.
- Conduct knowledge transfer and finalize operational turnover documentation for client teams.
Required Qualifications
Certifications
- Required: CCNA and/or CCNP
- Preferred: CCIE, CWNA, CompTIA Network+
- Experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or other enterprise vendors is a plus
- Strong preference: Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center
Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, ideally with large-scale or multi-site environments.
- Demonstrated experience in network modernization, hardware refresh, and enterprise network projects.
Skills
- Strong technical governance and delivery leadership.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Deep understanding of networking standards and technologies.
- Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate complex deployments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.

- Willingness to travel to client sites as required for deployments and milestones.
