This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Sr Corporate Counsel who thrives on tackling a diverse mix of labor & employment matters and complex commercial issues. You will join a highly accomplished, collaborative, and globally distributed legal team that encourages bold thinking and practical, business‑forward legal solutions.

While the role includes some commercial contract responsibilities, it is primarily focused on employment and HR‑related legal work. You will partner closely with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and operational leaders to ensure employment law compliance, mitigate risk, and strengthen Insight’s people‑centric culture.

What You’ll Do at Insight

Employment & HR Legal Support (Primary Focus)

  • Advise HR, recruiting, and business leaders on employment‑related matters, including compliance with local, state, federal, and international laws.
  • Provide guidance on wage and hour, leaves of absence, accommodations, progressive discipline, separations, investigations, and employee relations matters.
  • Conduct internal investigations and respond to state and federal agency inquiries (e.g., EEOC, DOL, state human rights agencies).
  • Draft, update, and interpret employment policies and procedures; monitor changes in employment laws and emerging trends.
  • Manage and coordinate outside counsel on employment litigation, administrative matters, and immigration issues.
  • Support pre‑litigation strategy and risk mitigation efforts.

Commercial & Cross‑Functional Legal Support (Secondary Focus)

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including master agreements, statements of work, amendments, and framework agreements.
  • Advise internal teams—sales, finance, operations, marketing, service delivery—on commercial risk, IP issues, approval processes, and compliance.
  • Summarize and communicate key contract concepts, providing clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Assist with legal research, special projects, mergers and acquisitions support, and compliance training initiatives.

Training, Governance & Legal Operations

  • Develop and deliver training on employment compliance, business terms, contracting processes, and risk management.
  • Improve legal tools, templates, and operational processes for HR and commercial stakeholders.
  • Work with autonomy, balancing business goals with prudent legal risk management.

What You’ll Need to Join Insight

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required; admission and good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 4–6+ years of experience, ideally from a large law firm; experience working with or within a large corporate legal department preferred.
  • Strong employment law background is required (multi‑state exposure preferred).
  • Familiarity with international employment issues is a plus (Canadian exposure helpful but not required).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong willingness to dive in, learn, and navigate ambiguity with confidence.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience partnering with HR and business stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Experience with legal department technology (e.g., Microsoft O365, DocuSign, Adobe Sign, CLM platforms).
  • Some exposure to public sector contracting and/or trademarks/copyrights is a plus.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regular sitting, talking, hearing, and extensive computer use.
  • Moderate office noise; ability to work in a confined area.
  • Extended periods at a computer workstation.
  • Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities.
