Our Insight team is searching for a creative, collaborative, and professional Principal UX (Designer, Researcher) to join our team.



Essential duties:

As a Principal UX (Designer, Researcher), there are five areas of focus that you will be accountable for – Team Growth, New Business & Sales, Strategic Delivery, Community Engagement & Hiring.


Team Growth

  • Provide thought leadership and knowledge sharing with teammates.
  • Coaching and training to improve Insight employees in consulting and UX skills
  • Help grow new leaders within your practice
  • Building branch culture and encouraging diversity & inclusion


Sales & New Business

  • Clearly communicate what Insight Consulting and your practice does and the value proposition
  • Successfully plan tasks and estimate individual workload
  • Support pre-sales activities such as sales calls, opportunity assessments (OAs), Quick Estimate Assessments (QEAs), Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, Statements of Work (SOWs)


Strategic Delivery

  • Working on delivering a combination of, but not all, UX services at the client including information architecture, designs, prototyping and research
  • Build relationships and expand high priority accounts
  • Builds team cohesiveness while meeting individual goals and remaining open minded
  • Responsible for managing and prioritizing tasks and responsibilities without supervision
  • Ability to be proactive/take initiative when confronted with a new problem or task
  • Demonstrates ability to navigate complex tasks and make recommendations
  • Responsible for accuracy and quality of deliverables at all stages
  • Help drive delivery excellence at the client
  • Ability to craft and socialize best practices
  • Drive large, enterprise solution architecture and delivery


Community Engagement

  • Encourage involvement in the tech/practice community
  • Support events as needed through attendance, sponsorship or speaking



  • Identify, qualify, and interview skilled team that meets the anticipated needs of our clients


What We Look For…

  • ~ 8 years of experience in the industry
  • ~ 3 years experience in professional services consulting 
  • Experience writing statements of work, proposals, reports and/or business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executives and enterprise clients
  • Foundational strategy, research and design capabilities
  • Ability to take leadership of teams and accountability for client relationships
  • Expertise/experience with UX Design tools – Sketch, Invision, Adobe XD, Axure, Figma
  • Expertise/experience with UX Research tools – Optimal Workshop, UserZoom, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Experience moderating user testing
  • Experience leading stakeholder interviews
