Role Overview


Sitting within the 'EMEA Service Delivery' function and a key hire for the business, the Cloud Consultant role is a hybrid position encompassing a range of responsibilities. Sitting within the consulting division at Insight, this role will work in close partnership with key client stakeholders, focusing on the design/delivery/installation of state-of-the-art technology solutions with a focus on growing our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud practice.


Your role will see you work closely with a range of customers, owning Cloud transformation projects from initial assessment/brief through to successful completion, working across the full project lifecycle and acting as an SME around Cloud and Data Centre technologies.


Role Responsibilities


  • Own the delivery of IT related projects to clients, accountable for ensuring defined service revenue and utilisation targets are met, and the delivery of anticipated client outcome.
  • Responsible for the customisation and configuration of client services offerings.
  • Design, build and configure solutions to address client needs and business drivers, ensuring they meet or exceed expectations.
  • Work closely with the Solution Sales Specialists to present intelligent end-to-end solutions offerings based on the clients specified requirements.
  • To participate in workshops, client meetings, and calls to provide technical expertise in relation to Insight’s proposals, demonstrating credibility and inspiring confidence with clients.
  • To prepare and present client demonstrations and provide training on this matter.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing activities as required, supporting a culture of sharing and learning.


Candidate Requirements


  • Proven experience delivering complex IT solutions (ideally cCoud-based) in a consulting and/or managed services environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with prior experience managing both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience working with core AWS services including S3, EC2, DynamoDB, Lambdas, CloudFront, Route 53, RDS, SNS etc.
  • Experience working with Linux OS and/or Windows OS.
  • Experience working with core VMWare virtualisation technologies.
  • Some experience working with scripting/programming languages including Bash, Perl, Python, PowerShell etc.
  • Experience handling multiple projects at the same time, with excellent planning/organisation skills and ability to adapt to change.
  • Background creating/delivering accurate and concise project documentation.
  • Proven leadership skills including mentoring/coaching and people management.
  • Any certifications related to AWS (e.g. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solution Architect).


Office Locations


The main office locations are London, Manchester and Sheffield. You can be based anywhere in the UK and this role will support remote working.


Client Travel & Remote Working


This role will adopt a hybrid working pattern, with remote working (90%) combined with time spend on-site with the end client (10%)
