Cable Technician/AV Support ( Part-time )

 GENERAL SUMMARY:

 

The Cabling Technician position will work with the support team members on cabling/patch panel requests and some second-level voice/network troubleshooting. This includes cable management and incident-response requests for the video conferencing environments.  Responsibilities also include fulfilling the project and day-to-day needs, performing troubleshooting activities and providing some off -hours support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provide video-conferencing and Collaboration tool support via telephone/chat to personnel at US and International sites
  • Respond to production-impacting cable and video-conferencing issues, while also satisfying VoIP phone incidents
  • Assist with Webex and video-conferencing setup for meetings
  • Manage inventory and replacement of Video Conferencing equipment, conference and user phones, and all cabling within World Headquarters
  • Effectively use company adopted tools for maintaining and troubleshooting the cabling environment.  These include but are not limited to Fluke Cable Testers, punch-down tools and an analog butt set
  • Demonstrate an ability to troubleshoot physical connectivity within a data center and throughout a large enterprise
  • Implement changes when given direction and update the documentation accordingly
  • Perform basic port configurations on Cisco routers and switches, and provide front-line support on the Call Manager and voicemail servers
