BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB


The Systems Technician maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems. Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups. This person is also familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Installs and supports approved PC Windows and Mac OS based operating systems.
  • Responds to and resolves computer, printer, and other peripheral support and troubleshooting requests in a manner consistent with IT policies and procedures.
  • Installs and maintains approved software applications such as MS Office, SAP, and other related software. 
  • Maintains computer hardware/software installation and configuration online documentation.
  • Supports enterprise applications and development activities.
  • Administers approved standards for companywide acquisition and deployment of PC hardware, software, technologies, and services.
  • Provides technical support and training to system users.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


Education and/or Experience:
Associate Degree or its equivalent and 1 year experience maintaining personal computer hardware and software systems. Must obtain certification on current desktop operating system within 6 months from date of hire.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various levels of management and to explain technology to the business community as required.
  • Possess the ability to prioritize work assignments.
  • Possess analytical ability to collect and examine technical data to resolve technology implementation and support issues.
