Director, Microsoft Cloud

Insight is hiring the crucial leadership role of Director for our Microsoft Cloud buisness, which is a multi-billion-dollar business here.





  • You will be responsible for developing and executing on profitable growth plans for our Microsoft Cloud Business.  You will be joining a fast-paced team with responsibility for one of the largest businesses within Insight.  Our Microsoft business is multifaceted and includes Insight-delivered services and solutions powered by Microsoft technologies.  We are a competitive team that prides ourselves in work ethic, performance, results, and positive attitudes.


  • In this role you will work with key Microsoft executives and their teams to ensure Insight is the partner of choice.  You will partner internally with key stakeholders across the organization, including services practices, sales, marketing, and finance to ensure our growth strategies are well aligned with our Microsoft strategy.  You will be responsible for maximizing our profitability and investments to ensure Insight obtains above market growth in our big bet/accelerated growth focus areas. 


  • The Director-Microsoft role has a focus on our US buisness, with additional Global oversight and collaboration responsibilities.   In this role, you will represent and manage our Microsoft strategy.  This role will require you to amplify our transformation as one of Microsoft’s top Global partners.   You will drive our performance to goals, while we also continuing to transform our buisness as one of Microsoft’s leading Global Solutions Integrators (GSIs).  


The Microsoft Director leads an organization and team that consists of both management-level leaders and individual contributors, across several sub-teams and functional areas.

What You’ll Do In the Director-Microsoft role (not all inclusive):


Lead a high performing Partner Management and Strategic Alliance team
Foster a diverse and inclusive culture that provides our teammates a strong sense of belonging.
Drive our Microsoft Business in all sales segments and solution areas. 
Lead and execute our Microsoft partnership and go-to-market (GTM) strategies, including but not limited to:


Define key initiatives to deliver performance against our key goals
Deliver trainings to our sales teams on Microsoft and our services around it.
Own and manage Microsoft programs end-to-end.
Organize and help lead cross-departmental initiatives.
Collaborate with and influence services business units to include Microsoft solutions as a key focus.  


Work between our partner (Microsoft), sales, and services organizations to to develop and execute to big bet solutions growth initiatives.
Support and serve our business as go-to liaison between Microsoft and other groups within Insight, such as our services business units.
Analyze industry information to identify opportunities and develop strategies to increase sales and profitability.
Be the go-to business leader on Microsoft.  You and your team will serve as experts that others reach on anything Microsoft.
Managing operational strategies and budget for our all-up Microsoft business.  This includes working with multiple Insight and Microsoft tools to manage our Microsoft business and growth. 


Educate stakeholders on our Microsoft GTM, differentiators, offerings, and more.
Analyze and communicate financial conditions and changes in our market share.
Host recurring executive business reviews on partner performance and joint growth initiatives.
Partner with marketing to internally and externally market key solutions around Microsoft.
Engage daily with Microsoft to drive strong alignment to ensure that all Insight and partner stakeholders are kept up to date on issues and initiatives
Facilitate successful field alliance, business development, and co-sell with Microsoft sales teams
Obtain and facilitate necessary partner and industry certifications


What you’ll need to join Insight:


Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; MBA is highly desirable
10+ years industry experience,
Prefer deep experience working directly with or at Microsoft, or related organizations.
Prefer 5+ years leading partner alliance or marketing team in a high-tech or IT service-related industry or professional services company.
Must be client obsessed.

Must be a self-driven strategic and tactical leader with the ability to operate at both the strategic and where required, detailed level.

Must be an exceptional leader (by way of our Insight Leadership Commitments).

Must have a strong knowledge of IT solutions industry and channel
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
