Security Architect

BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB

 

The Security Architect designs systems, integrations and processes to deliver the capabilities defined by business.

  • Designing, creating and developing systems and security controls
  • Creating security policies and standards
  • Researching new security technologies and their application to the services offered
  • Ensuring all acquired or developed systems are consistent with the security architecture guidelines
  • Identifying and prioritizing critical business functions with stakeholders
  • Defining and documenting how the implementation of a new system or interface impacts the security posture of the current environment
  • Planning system implementation to ensure that all system components are integrated and aligned
  • Documenting and addressing the organization’s information security, architecture and systems security engineering requirements with Service Design
  • Identifying and documenting the protection needs for information systems and networks
  • Performing security reviews, identifying gaps in security architecture and developing a security risk management plan
  • Documenting and managing the enterprise technical roadmap
  • Defining appropriate levels of systems availability based on critical system functions
  • Ensuring system requirements identify appropriate disaster recovery and continuity of operation requirements

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience in security architecture
  • Experience in developing/delivering security requirements
  • Experience  in delivering solutions to heterogeneous environments (Windows/Linux/Mac)
  • Must be knowledgeable about enterprise-wide infrastructure and scalability including SaaS offerings
  • Experience designing operational systems to synthesize multiple alerts from various security systems, performing event correlation, and using historical trending, automatically detect system anomalies that would indicate the presence of rogue internal or external hackers.
  • Understanding of network, cloud and application architecture and concepts, and interoperability of these architectures with one another
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Capabilities
  • Ability to Collaborate and Engage well with others to solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources
  • Possess excellent business acumen with a strong ability to map business requirements to security solutions.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, proven presentation skills to all levels of audiences including technologists, management and executives.
  • Will have a vision and will think expansively and outside "industry best practices" to consistently generate and evaluate highly innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Will be willing to take calculated risks, will anticipate the consequences of decisions and will generate plans to address them.
  • Working knowledge of established security and privacy frameworks including SOC I & II, PCI-DSS 3.0 and HIPPA
  • Experience with: Threat Modeling, Database Administration, System Hardening, ISP and Networks
  • Experience with creating and sustaining reusable security requirements,
  • Own creating and maintaining usable enterprise and solution architecture diagrams and documentation.
  • Solid understanding of end to end of engineering processes including architecture, design, implementation, and operations.
