Job Description Overview

This is a motivated and passionate AKS Architect interested in joining a consulting practice. This candidate is a practitioner of cutting-edge automation tools and provisioning in a public cloud provider – Azure, AWS, or GCP preferred – as well as a strong cloud architect, designing a deploying well-architected cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer-facing roles and success delivering cloud solutions with IaC automation on projects.

What you’ll do for Insight:  

• Be eager to learn and stay up to date on new and emerging cloud technologies
• Work as part of Insight and client teams, following Agile/Scrum approaches and ceremonies
• Communicate effectively and professionally with teammates, client personnel, and client stakeholders
• As a AKS Architect
  • Hands-on expertise in implementing AKS solutions.
  • AKS Kubernetes Infrastructure large number of clusters
  • Multiple AKS clusters, AKS using ACR, Azure DevOps CI-CD pipeline
  • Setup Ingress/Egress load balancer, Akamai DNS service
  • Integrate Azure firewall integration
  • Be a technical champion for customer
  • Develop hybrid cloud reference architecture, Define target state cloud architecture.
  • Provide design, engineering, development, planning, and administration of Azure Kubernetes AKS clusters for a set of critical business applications.
  • Provide design, engineering, development, planning and administration of Azure PaaS and IaaS services through extensive use of automation and terraform.
  • Work closely with the application, engineering, security, and operations teams to engineer and build Kubernetes and Azure PaaS & IaaS solutions within an agile and modern enterprise-grade operating model.
  • Design solutions for Kubernetes based architecture while making sure the best practices are followed
  • Ability to create infrastructure as a code.
  • Implement the SRE principles.
  • Design deployment architecture for IaaS / SaaS /PaaS that will address client’s business needs and lead teams that will implement them for our clients.
  • Experience with migrating workloads to AKS.
  • DevOps and Agile methodologies, processes and tools
  • Confidently articulates all aspects of the solution and persuasively communicate value to the client.
  • Work individually, within teams, or as a leader, to determine customer requirements in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Development of operating model for the above environments and facilitating handover to business and IT operations teams

REQUIREMENTS 

Background and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
• Certifications in relevant technologies, cloud providers, or demonstration of ongoing learning
• 7+ years of experience in consulting services or similar roles focused on project-based work, and/or solution development.  
• 3+ years of leading teammates or being part of large teams on projects

Technical Skills

• Expert understanding of cloud infrastructure, primarily Azure.
• Strong AKS experience
• Microservices architecture, and Hybrid cloud integration architecture.
• Expert with Cloud Adoption Frameworks and Well-Architected Frameworks; have solid experience delivering CAF and WAF engagements
• Experience with on-prem to cloud migrations
• Experience designing and deploying cloud architectures that include disaster recovery sites, as well as designing, implementing and executing failovers and failbacks
• In-depth experience in automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Configuration-as-Code (CaC) and management of cloud hosted resources
• Experience working in a DevOps and Agile culture
• Experience with DevOps and IaC tools such as Hashicorp Terraform, Azure Bicep, CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins is preferred
• Experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing is a preferred
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins and/or GitLab CI/CD
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go, and/or Ruby
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet
• Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as knowledge in container architectures and deployment
• Background in application development, .Net, or other development frameworks is a plus
• Background in systems engineering, networking, and server infrastructure is helpful
• Azure Cloud architect certified
