Job Title- Sr. Compensation and Benefits Analyst

Position Overview

Conducts analysis of jobs, salaries and incentives in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the organization's pay practices. Make recommendations regarding salary grades or market rates for specific jobs.  Evaluates and administers benefit programs including health and welfare plans.  Develop operating procedures for processing and controlling benefit programs, manage and administer the benefits system, and maintain data and prepare reports on benefit usage and cost. Incumbents interpret and explain benefits to teammates, serve as Tier 2 point of contact for the HR Service Center.

 

 

Responsibilities –

  1. Evaluate job duties and responsibilities, classify job exemption status, determine salary grade, and document job descriptions
  2. Create, modify and design compensation plans
  3. Administer compensation surveys and use the data to analyze competitive salary information to determine company's competitive position
  4. Manage and administer data in all compensation systems:
  5. SharePoint portal (job description and incentive plan library, etc.)
  6. MTC data tables
  7. Market database vendor applications
  8. Coordinate systems support with HRIS to successfully execute annual merit cycle and CIP administration.
  9. Review proposed salary adjustments in support of established guidelines, policies and practices
  10. Recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation related issues to HR Managers or Business Leaders
  11. Conduct new hire orientation and presents benefits overview.
  12. Administer employee enrollment and claims processes, including maintaining accurate records, tracking employee benefits usage, and resolving benefit-related issues.
  13. Monitor industry trends and make recommendations to management regarding potential plan improvements or changes.
  14. Work with payroll department to ensure that benefits program deductions and contributions are accurately processed.
  15. Maintain open communication with teammates to understand their needs and concerns related to their benefits programs.
  16. Continuously evaluate and improve benefits programs to ensure that they meet the changing needs of the company and its teammates.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualification:

  1. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or equivalent combination of education and HR related experience. 
  2. 5+ years’ combined experience in a Compensation and Benefits role
  3. Ability to understand the components to compensation and benefit plans
  4. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, vendor contracts, regulations and market data
  5. Ability to work on several projects at the same time
  6. Ability to maintain data integrity in compensation and benefit systems
  7. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
  8. Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management
  9. Ability to audit job descriptions for content and grade as appropriate
  10. Ability to approve bonuses and working with payroll for submission
  11. Ability to interrupt regulatory compliance and apply logic to compensation reviews
  12. Understanding of advanced spreadsheets and analytical skills
  13. Ability to react with the appropriate level of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround.
  14. Ability to make presentations.
