Planning Manager

As a Planning Manager at Insight, you’re responsible for driving the operational strategy and efficient processes that support the needs of the Sales Organizations and our Clients through supply and demands around the Operations Execution process areas (capacity planning, scheduling, and expediting teams).  By working internally with our sales teams and operations leaders, you’ll need to leverage our external business partners and other support teammates to drive improvements to business processes.
  
What you’ll do at Insight: 
 

  • Work to help set the vision for the team; Set performance expectations while establishing and driving KPI attainment and own overall resource allocation.  
  • Recruit, hire and develop management team and other direct reports. Also develop and mentor direct reports through communication, training and strong leadership.
  • Manage our client experience to gather new requirements and to remediate areas needing improvement.  This role will require support in the creation/implementation of a work order process though SAP, capacity planning/forecasting and full SOP for scheduling team, inclusive of designing a scheduling system. The true objective is to understand organizations OTD and communicate clearly and effectively expectations to internal clients.
  • Build and maintain management level relationships within Insight, its customers and our partners when necessary.
  • Assist in structure/design of our scheduling system, inclusive of getting real time reporting, the creation of sales forecasting system and the launch of capacity planning for all operations in our facilities.
  • Work closely with the sales to ensure customer needs/demands are met within established lead times. Create process for teams to work with the Purchasing Department to coordinate incoming materials to fit scheduling needs while analyzing work center loads for effective capacity planning.  Align with other functions on large scale projects to support the growth of the business.  
  • Assume an active role in daily, weekly and monthly production meetings and, as a leader, drive a culture of trust and heathy challenge to drive better engagement and process.  

 

What you’ll need to join Insight:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. and B.A.) from a four-year college or combination of education and experience required; Education in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Customer Service or Management preferred.  
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in business leadership, with a focus on strategy development and implementation within a fast paced organization.  Some manufacturing planning experience a must; experience in the information technology industry in sales, supply chain or customer service a plus.
  • Possess both the business acumen and courage to make difficult and unpopular decisions and recommendations.
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to provide overall team vision and direction. Must be forward-thinking, innovative, and lead the organization to cutting-edge solutions to support the delivery of strategic warehouse services across the enterprise. Must also be well-versed at providing focused feedback and leading large-scale projects that have significant impact on the company.
  • Must have expert level Excel skills.
