Commodity Manager

Position Overview

Evaluates overall operations, procurement and supply chain strategy to ensure service level commitments for both internal and external client requirements are met. Serves as liaison between sales, product marketing, and operations teams to develop concepts and coordinate product knowledge; provides data analysis for planning and volume studies; and participates in process/rating improvement efforts. Assists in developing logistics plans and procedures.

· Define metrics; schedule Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key Suppliers, ongoing performance management.

· Schedule/Drive Request for Proposals (RFPs) for specific categories.

· Define policy around negotiation/bid process for large orders – stop/review and utilize Distribution – Manufacturer negotiation strategy, sourcing extended pool of suppliers on large deals above established value without Special Costing terms.

· Bid process between Manufacturers where Insight has deal registration and can steer the business to end customer (exception scenario).

· Integrating Procurement into the upfront Supplier identification, negotiation, evaluation and selection process for RFP contracts and large one-off deals. Understanding Special Costing bid desk, Internal ZBCR cost calculation, and WIN team process.

· Own $50k large deal bid process .

· Contracts Management/Negotiation/RFP contracts compliance/track projected versus actual savings.

· Work with Supply Chain Analyst role to implement demand planning/forecasting process with contracted partners to optimize price and availability in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) sourcing logic.

· Related to RFP contacts compliance - Demand Planning/forecasting at the material level to ensure contracted Distributor meets On Time Delivery and availability Service Level Agreements (SLA), working with Product Marketing/Account Executive to identify buy in opportunities tying to number of active clients, working with Product Marketing-Distributor-Manufacturer to benchmark other industry top sellers that Insight might not have a run rate on.

· Product Lifecycle Management – New Product Introductions (NPI)/End of Life (EOL) management, formulating inventory policy, range of coverage with buyers based on lifecycle considerations, lead times, etc.

· Working with PM to build out and maintain market/supplier categorization - understanding category trends around lead times, price, availability, technology trends, financial impact etc.

· Periodic in-depth spend analytics and rolling sourcing/RFP schedule.

· Risk Management template.

· Savings retention, definition, calculation methodology and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) build out for category.

· Lean supply chain processes – e.g. breakeven analysis for drop ship versus stocking orders, EDI versus Manual PO’s, PO, invoice administration costs.

· Benchmarking with Insight global/regional teams for alignment on sourcing/contracts policy and spend leverage.

· Process optimization – Automated Drop Ship (ADS)/Manual Drop Ship (MDS) flow, ADS price tolerance, EDI order flow automation, activity based costing and value stream analysis to eliminate non value add activities and investigate BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) for low value add activities such as Hardware and Software weird ware sourcing process. Special Costing (ZCBI) Loss recovery root cause/corrective action. Optimize EDI Procure to Pay process and specifically order flow automation and price feeds to drive accurate and current costing (eliminate stale cost exposure). Optimize EDI Procure to Pay process.

· Global benchmarking of Insight and industry processes for best practice.

· Lean supply chain processes – e.g. breakeven analysis for drop ship versus stocking orders, EDI versus Manual PO’s, PO, invoice admin costs. MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) utilization.

· Cross functional dependencies and alignment with Product Marketing, Sales, Marketing, POSS, Warehouse Operations, WIN team. Drive optimal Supply Chain processes across company.

What you’ll need to join Insight

· Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Business Administration, Inventory and Supply Chain Management or related field of study; 5 years’ directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Knowledge of IT services, software, hardware, licensing, and peripherals a plus.

· Must be self-driven, motivated and results oriented. Solid problem solving and consultative skills required.

· Skill in planning, organizing, and managing time across multiple tasks needed.

· Highly articulate and professional in both oral and written communication, presentation, persuasion and negotiation to achieve desired result.

· Demonstrate ability to be self-directed and initiate programs with little hands-on management

· Well experienced in Microsoft Office tools.

· Strong business acumen across multiple functional areas (Sales, Marketing, eBusiness, Operations, etc.).
