BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB

The Dir Operations is responsible for driving the operational strategy and efficient processes that supports the needs of the Sales Organizations and our Clients through supply and demands around the Warehouse and Integrated/technology solutions process areas.  By working internally with our sales teams, the Director of Operations will leverage our external business partners and other support teammates to drive improvements to business processes.

 

The  Director of Operations is the strategic visionary and the leader for the warehouse and integrated solutions process functions. The incumbent will provide guidance and counsel to the VP Operations and his/her leadership team on all matters related to warehousing. The Director Integration must be versed at creating direction for the organization, driving alignment, and organizing the warehouse and technical integration teams function to deliver the needs of the business. In addition, he/she must be forward-thinking, innovative, and lead the organization to cutting-edge solutions to support the delivery of strategic warehouse services and advanced integration offerings across the enterprise.  . 

 

The Dir of Operations also manages our client experiences to gather new requirements and to remediate areas needing improvement.  This includes our EDI/B2B, Web and sales support environments that touch the clients or affect their experience.

 

The Dir of Operations works to help set the vision for their team and as such drives the annual budget and attainment, resource allocation, and metrics to be tracked.  Looking for a “lead from the floor mentality”. The team is comprised of groups that assist with post-order support such as Order Flow, Client and Vendor EDI, Client Services, Web Services and Sales Operations.

  • Always focused on the client experience  and manages process area with that as the main driver
  • Build and maintain executive management level relationships within Insight, its customers and our partners.
  • Revamp onboarding process with all cross functional areas to better support new clients or projects
  • Run daily floor meetings going over performance and daily goals (SQDIP)
  • Will review and strengthen our OTD/QA and productivity measurements a crossed of responsible operations daily and assure they align with KPI’s and client needs, build action plans and countermeasures to correct when needed
  • Build new processes to strengthen process area’s experiencing growth, requires experience in strategic labor and capacity planning
  • Help development go to market strategies for new integration offerings including DaaS, WaaS, SaaS, IaaS
  • Work to align process areas with market direction by building process to execute new offerings
  • Build scalable on boarding process for new clients/projects
  • Will need to assist is structure/design and measurements for new QC/QA system
  • Assist in the creation of sales forecasting system and align labor planning with capacity planning for all operations at Chicago facilities
  • Develop and Mentor direct reports through communication, training and strong leadership
  • Utilized continuous improvement to drive warehouse/integration efficiencies while promoting a C.I. culture throughout team
  • Works to measure cost of process and drive waste down through process and automation, review continually to identify new opportunities to drive cost from the business
  • Create the strategic business plan yearly to drive continuous KPI improvements for the warehouse functions inclusive of integration
  • Proactively work to drive service level practices.  This includes working with the nation practice leadership to assist in the development of new offerings, methodologies and the expansion of best practices as well as the proactive approach of developing regional and local competencies that support the nation practice framework.
  • Responsible for cost per unit and reduction strategies
  • Identify key business opportunities to maximize performance and minimize costs
  • Evaluate new technology to ensure that our integration and warehouse employees have the tools necessary to provide our customers with the highest level of service
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators to evaluate the performance and determine SLA’s of the warehouse functions
  • Align with other functions on large scale projects to support the growth of the business
  • Set performance expectations for his/her team to drive to sustainable and predictable business results
  • Inspire the team through modeling our cultural imperatives
  • Possess both the business acumen and courage to make difficult and unpopular decisions and recommendations
  • Be versed at providing focused feedback and leading large-scale projects that have significant impact on the company
  • Participate in sales and sales operations leadership meetings and share operational updates and action plans
  • Work cross-functionally with IT, Finance and other support organizations to implement changes to tools, policies and procedures
  • Understand and drive business requirements for our partner and client EDI strategy
  • Lead communication for key  updates at end of month and end of quarter (e.g., Backlog and client care)
  • Recruit, hire and develop management team and other direct reports
  • Escalate and resolve client and sales issues
  • Ensure operational standards and compliances meet audit requirements
  • Set annual budgets and manage expenses accordingly
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.S. and B.A.) from a four-year college or university MBA is highly desirable combination of education and experience required; Education in Business Administration, IS, Supply Chain, Customer Service or Management strongly considered.  Experience in the information technology industry in sales, supply chain needed.

Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in business leadership, with a focus on strategy development and implementation within a integration, manufacturing or warehouse environment.
