Operations Expediter

Position Overview

This position partners with the Production Planners, Warehouse and Lab teams to ensure that orders are efficiently moving through the company. Collaborates with various operations teams to support the expediting services offered by Insight to customers.

What you’ll do at Insight

  • Supports Production Planners with managing sale orders that are behind schedule and assists with the prioritization of orders on the expediting service.
  • Partners with Warehouse and Lab teams to better improve the movement of orders through the warehouse and lab environments.
  • Expedites available inventory for back order and normal replenishment needs in accordance with budgetary and customer service requirements.
  • Assists Capacity Planner with arranging schedules and regulating flow of work within or between organizational units or businesses.
  • Reports to leadership on the progress of orders daily. Involved with creating data, making  notes, ensuring data is reflected accurately in system.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to join Insight

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a warehouse or operations environment; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Moderate Excel Skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with multiple teams.
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes through multiple teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to deal with multiple demands on time.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and operate a computer, telephone, keyboard and material handling equipment; reach, stoop and kneel
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required – must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.

Ability to work in a warehouse environment which includes, but not limited to:

  • Moderate noise (conveyor system, etc.)
  • Ability to work safely around moving equipment such as forklifts, moving conveyors etc.
  • Ability to work in changing climate environments, i.e., cold during winter months and heat during summer months.
