Senior Infrastructure Engineer

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will enter a high-tech and exciting world forcused on all facets of the IT infrastructure.  As part of a team, responsibilities include data centers, network administration, network engineering, wireless and telecom services, VOIP, as well as the analysis, design, deployment, and operations of software and hardware, network, data center, and security systems supporting the business.  This is a highly visible role that requires exceptional professionalism and communication, in addition to great technical chops.

What you will be doing: 

 

  • Participates in all aspects of the infrastructure and network operations
  • Leads strategic technology initiatives to build and maintain key elements of the company’s enterprise infrastructure,
  • Active directory integration, software-defined internetworking, and innovative end user computing solutions
  • Participates in establishing policies and standard operating procedures to enable consistent and repeatable execution
  • Implements and manages tactical and packaged applications such as Microsoft Windows/Active Directory, various UNIX and Linux systems, wired and wireless networking, VOIP, mobile devices and management and other common-off-the-shelf systems as required
  • Installs, configures and maintains server and network hardware
  • Installs, configures and administers network and system hardware and software in accordance with accepted industry best practices security standards
  • Takes ownership of project planning and keeps manager and project leads informed about project progress and tracks issues
  • Attends and participates in team meetings, able to plan and effectively communicate agenda and output from meeting
  • Stays current with new technology and information security developments and techniques and effectively communicates how it may affect the Infrastructure Team
  • Ability to conduct and effectively document Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Schedule and perform necessary Infrastructure patching
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties

 

What you need to join: 

 

  • College degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration or related field or equivalent related work experience required
  • 15 or more years of experience in Information Technology with five+ years of experience in Infrastructure design, planning and implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge of data center operations, telecommunications, VOIP, network engineering, data center applications, client/server computing and production operations support
  • Extensive experience with VMware including performance monitoring and management, problem remediation for ESXi servers, vCenter, related VMware technologies, and Hyperconverged technology (Simplivity)
  • Experience working in a 24/7 on-call environment and the flexibility to work additional and/or late hours based on business needs
  • Experience supporting data center operations, telecommunications, network engineering, data center applications, client/server computing and production operations support
  • Proven experience with VMware (performance monitoring and management, problem remediation for ESXi servers, vCenter, related VMware technologies, and Hyperconverged technology (SimpliVity)
  • Experience working in a 24/7 on-call environment and the flexibility to work additional and/or late hours based on business needs
  • Thorough understanding of WAN/LAN troubleshooting and support using Cisco-based switching, routing, and wireless technologies
  • CCNA, CCIE, or other Cisco Certs highly desired
  • SCCM and Active Director Experience
  • SAN, NetApp, Pure Storage administration
  • Windows and Linux server administration
  • Exchange administration
  • SQL administration
  • Firewall administration (Palo Alto preferred)
  • VBScript/PowerShell and batch scripting
  • Microsoft Office, Office365, Azure AD, and SharePoint Online
  • VMWare administration
  • Cisco Networking
  • Enterprise social network design and implementation
  • IT audit experience
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services
  • Data center implementation and management
  • Identity Management experience a plus
