Principal Consultant – Data & AI
 

Location: This is a hybrid opportunity based in Melbourne where you will work 2 days in the office, 3 days a week from home – some client engagements may require more time on site.

As a Principal Consultant with Insight, you will be a sales focused technology specialist, viewed as a trusted advisor. We will count on you to act as the technical lead on projects, overseeing several Technical/Delivery Consultants on larger engagements. Along the way, you will also be responsible for assisting with the development of Intellectual Property (IP) in their expertise areas

Leadership: The Practice Manager for this role is Bruce Anderson. Bruce is based in New Zealand and leads Data and AI for East Coast Australia and NZ; Bruce will be committed to providing ongoing development opportunities to help you reach your full potential. As a member of our Data & AI team, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative environment that fosters growth, innovation, knowledge sharing and creativity.  

 

 

As a Principal Consultant you will be:

 

  • Researching and evaluating client systems and architecture; drawing conclusions; and developing recommendations in accordance with engagement objectives
  • Discussing project scope and budget with the customer and directing the project scope to be implemented on time and budget without sacrificing quality
  • Acting as a team leader on large engagements taking ownership of the project outcome and quality.
  • Identifying and resolving project issues with our clients
  • Writing proposal components or letters of understanding, as needed, and responding to RFPs and other marketing situations

We are looking for a Principal Consultant with:

  • Significant expertise designing and delivering solutions using multiple Microsoft Azure data platform services (e.g. Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory, Logic Apps, Analysis Services)
  • Designing and delivering IoT solutions using Microsoft technologies (e.g. Stream Analytics, IoT Hub etc.)
  • Advanced analytics/ML platforms (e.g. SPARK, Azure Machine Learning, R Server etc.)
  • Power BI
  • TOGAF certification would be advantageous in this role
