About the role
Leadership: The Practice Lead for this role is Toli Papageorgiou, based in Melbourne. Toli is a dynamic leader, manager, technologist, and consultant with a strong passion for understanding client business needs and delivering outcomes that positively impact their customers. In parallel, he is dedicated to ensuring a growing and profitable practice with a focus on developing the talent within the practice, and working closely with our PMO to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations. Toli is looking to grow the team with fresh talent as part of Insight, especially as we bring Modern work and Security to the forefront in 2025.
As a Principal Consultant with Insight, you are a trusted advisor by clients. Our Principal Consultants act as the technical lead on projects, overseeing a number of Technical/Delivery Consultants on larger engagements. The Principal Consultant are be responsible for assisting with the development of Intellectual Property (IP) in their expertise areas.
As a hands-on Principal Consultant you will get to:
- Act as leader for the differentiation of Insight’s technical capability.
- Develop solution knowledge and share this IP both locally and Asia Pacific wide.
- Focus on assisting the practice team to meet the Services Practice’s financial target.
- Provide input to the definition and architecture of client centric solutions.
- Assist with client proposals and engage early on in the client planning and solution definition phase.
- Working together with Account Managers and Project Managers, define the roadmap and milestones for each project, and the required involvement of delivery teams.
- Responsible for the delivery of solutions against pre-agreed specifications.
- Effective interaction with AM/PM to ensure technical delivery to client expectations and satisfaction.
- On all engagements the Principal Consultant will own the proposed solution, oversee the Delivery Consultant team members and remain engaged with the client.
- Lead, guide and mentor Delivery Consultant team members.
- Take responsibility as the technical representative of Insight within strategic accounts to develop strong client relationships and identify opportunities for Insight.
- Develop profile as a technical leader in a Insight specialist solution area

We are looking for a hands-on Principal Consultant with the following capabilities:
Consultative:
- Substantial experience in technical roles within a Services environment.
- Ability to map client’s business needs to Insight’s technology solution offerings.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong client relationships.
- Ability to engage and lead a team of Delivery Consultant team members
- Excellent written (documentation) and verbal communication skills.
- Proven analysis skills with the ability to work with a client to understand requirements, define and present appropriate solution, and oversee delivery of a solution to the client.
- Comfortable with presenting and communicating technical solutions.
- A team player willing to develop and share IP within the organization
Technical:
- Experience with Identity and Access Management in Entra, Entra Domain Services, Entra Connect, SAML, OpenID Connect/OAuth, Azure AD App Proxy, SCIM.
- Experience with Microsoft traditional technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and PKI.
- Experience with Purview: Azure Information Protection, Office 365 and Endpoint Data Loss Prevention, Cloud App Security
- Experience with M365 migration and consolidation projects; EOL, SPO, OneDrive, Teams, Teams chats; experience with Power BI and Power App migrations will be highly regarded
- Experience with migration toolsets from vendors such as AvePoint, Quest, and BitTitan
- Experience with Microsoft Enterprise Mobility and Security for Microsoft Windows; Intune, Configuration Manager, Co-Management, Hybrid-join, Autopilot, Conditional Access baseline security policies
- Experience in Security: Microsoft Defender AV, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Identity, Microsoft Defender for O365 highly regarded.
- Experience with query and scripting such as PowerShell and Kusto
- Substantial experience in technical roles within a Services environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of foundational security and networking principals
