Role Overview

As a Solutions Consultant, you play a pivotal role at Insight, serving as a trusted advisor and technical lead for clients. Leveraging your extensive expertise, you will assess business needs, recommend optimal technology solutions, and demonstrate their value to secure technical buy-in.

Your responsibilities will include project qualification, requirements gathering, risk assessment, and crafting Statements of Work (SOWs) that help win technical decisions in sales opportunities. You will also lead presentations and solution demonstrations for key stakeholders, including C-level executives, showcasing how cloud technologies can drive business success.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Advisory: Define the right solution for the client, aligning technology, pricing, and risk factors to ensure a balanced and strategic approach.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead the development of cloud-based solutions, generating estimates and approaches in collaboration with the Services Delivery and Architecture teams.
  • Proposal Development: Create compelling proposals, including writing Statements of Work (SOWs) and preparing impactful presentations.
  • Senior-Level Engagement: Confidently present technical topics to senior executives, including C-suite leaders, ensuring clarity and alignment with business goals.
  • Best Practices & Knowledge Sharing: Apply industry best practices, leverage reusable assets, and incorporate previous experiences to consistently deliver high-quality solutions.

 

Required Technical Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have expertise in at least three (3) of the following modern digital technologies:

  • Data & Warehousing (e.g., Azure Synapse, Power BI, data lakes, analytics solutions)
  • Identity Management & Governance (e.g., Azure AD, Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management)
  • Microsoft 365 Ecosystem (e.g., Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams,)
  • Application Modernization (e.g., containerization, microservices, DevOps pipelines, low-code/no-code platforms)
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI platforms and copilots (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, AWS AI services), including practical use in productivity, automation, and workflow optimization.
  • Managed Services (e.g., ongoing cloud operations, automation, ITSM frameworks)

 

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in selling professional and managed services, particularly within cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Technical and commercial acumen, demonstrated through previous presales roles.
  • 2+ years of experience in Microsoft sales, covering areas such as Modern Work, App and Data.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-based solutions, including: AWS solutions (desirable), Google Workspace (desirable) , Office 365, Microsoft Intune, Power Platform, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric
  • Driving AI business adoption 
  • Ability to evaluate, integrate, and operationalize enterprise-grade AI solutions across cloud ecosystems (Microsoft, Google Cloud, AWS), leveraging generative AI capabilities to enhance business processes and user experience.
  • Deep knowledge of multiple IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS solutions to align with clients' business needs.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, etc.) will be highly valuable.
