We are seeking a Cloud Engineer for one of our clients in a contract to hire opening that possesses the following skills.





  • Remote
  • 6 month contract to hire
  • $100.00 hourly on contract, will change to 180K yearly when hired on permanent 
  • M-F 8-5 pm EST hours
  • 7 years’ experience in cloud engineering and architecting
  • Design, execution and maintenance of compute infrastructure
  • Enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, and technology management
  • Deep domain expertise of cloud infrastructure solutions (i.e. Windows and Linux IaaS, SAP, BCDR, Security, Management, Storage, Networking, OSS, containers and Infra as a code technologies)
  • Knowledge of cloud development platforms preferred




Job Title: Cloud Engineer


Summary: Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, the Cloud Engineer will assist in the design, execution, and/or maintenance of our compute infrastructure, including computational workflows, cloud-based web-application/solution deployments, network architecture, and data versioning and lifecycle management. The Cloud Engineer will also work closely with out field services team in remediating high priority incidents and helping maintain production stability, security, and customer server at the highest standards.



Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Responsible for collecting and defining technical requirements to enable business process and integrations
  • Collaborate with the team of engineers and IT specialists to design effective, efficient, scalable, and secure applications and infrastructure within the organization’s Cloud platform
  • Lead or assist in the design and implementation of new cloud-based systems as the company needs change
  • Responsible for collaboration with Information Security to ensure proper security policies and standards are followed
  • Troubleshoot any problems that are encountered in any of the above
  • Follow industry trends and best practices, recommend changes as appropriate
  • Evaluate cost across our cloud presence and make recommendation on future designs
  • Participate in the integration of acquired businesses from an operations perspective
  • Uphold ITSM best practices across the Retail division
  • Participate in problem and change management to maintain high production stability
  • Stay current on technology trends and opportunities, compliance/risk issues by self-study and other training programs company can provid




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field with equivalent work experience
  • 7 years’ experience in cloud engineering and architecting
  • Strong Agile process and process-improvement orientation
  • Cloud certification(s) relevant to cloud architecture, cloud engineering
  • Excellent customer service and the ability to work cross functionally with other teams
