Onsite Systems/ Infrastructure Engineer– 6 month W2 contract with opportunity to convert to a permanent hire – Germantown, MD

Insight Enterprises is seeking Onsite Systems/ Infrastructure Engineer to work as part of our client’s team to analyze, design, develop, test, document and deploy complex infrastructure systems. This is primarily an engineering role that requires the person to develop products and support lab systems. 

This opportunity will start as a 6 month W2 contract, but has the opportunity to extend and/or convert to a permanent hire. This position is onsite Monday through Friday in Germantown, MD. Please see the details below. If you are interested, please let me know! Thank you!

Highlights:

Position: Systems/ Infrastructure Engineer

Duration: 6 month W2 contract with opportunity to convert to permanent hire

Pay: Dependent on experieince, though in the realms of $70.00 to $85.00 an hour

Location/Schedule: Onsite in Germantown MD. Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy infrastructure, working closely with system designers and integrators
• Develop and document design and network diagrams
• Ability to develop and code using software frameworks and version control systems
• Analyze and resolve performance related issues
• Recommend and implement mechanisms to regularly upgrade and patch COTS hardware and software 
• Recommend and deploy solutions to automate infrastructure deployments

 Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience with Linux Operating Systems, preferably Red Hat and CentOS
• Knowledge of Linux, Python and Ansible (Ansible is a MUST HAVE)
• Experience with COTS infrastructure components like servers, storage, switches, firewalls and routers
• Knowledge of network-based installs, upgrades and zero touch provisioning techniques
• Proficiency with scripting languages: Python and bash preferred. Specifically targeted to writing infrastructure as code

• Knowledge of automation frameworks that provisions and provides configuration management
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Good communication skills, both oral and written
