Basic Function

Position Overview

 

The Business Process Specialist, or Subject Matter Expert (SME), is an individual with a deep understanding of the Sales & Client Operations roles and responsibilities.  This includes processes, department functions and technology used.  The Business Process Specialist is responsible for resolving operational process issues, coordinate and engage in testing, create and maintain work instructions, communicate system and process changes.  The Business Process Specialist may also need to deliver training, document issues, gather business requirements, and engage on projects and initiatives.

The incumbent will have knowledge of commonly used business and system concepts, practices, and procedures.  The incumbent will rely on instructions, policy, and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and will work under immediate supervision.

The Business Process Specialist must participate actively as a liaison and ambassador between the business community and the technical community.  The incumbent should participate actively as an SME by passing on business, process, and system expertise to other team members in a cooperative team environment.

 

What you’ll do at Insight

 

  • Primary process and systems point of contact for Sales and Operations
  • Provide daily assistance for with resolving sales process and system issues
  • Create and maintain work instructions/QRCs
  • Assist in the development of department process maps
  • Communicate system and process changes that will impact functional area
  • Liaison between functional and technical teams
  • Develop and execute test scripts for change requests (Global Intake/CR)
  • Act as SME for project and initiatives
  • Engage on large initiative test plan development and execution
  • Document issues/business requirements for functional area and identify process opportunities
  • Evaluate and optimize systems and processes
  • Support training of new hires within the department
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

What you’ll need to join Insight

 

  • 0-1 years experience in a business process role or change management, preferably with demonstrated knowledge of Insight’s sales processes
  • 0-1 years experience working with an ERP system, preferably Insight systems
  • BS/BA or equivalent experience desired
  • Prior experience in client operations or sales preferred
  • Can embrace change and be a catalyst for change in the business community
  • Has participated in group work sessions making major decisions regarding workflow, business analysis, implementation planning, and system testing
  • Highly articulate in both oral and written communication, presentation, persuasion and negotiation to achieve desired result
  • Can communicate effectively and credibly with all organizational levels, with the specific ability to gain trust, draw out needs, creatively propose ideas, and immediately and expertly resolve conflicts and concerns
  • Ambitious, flexible, and aggressive. A self-starter who requires minimum supervision and adapts easily to changing work environments and requirements and can drive for results.
