Bus Intelligence Analyst I

Position Overview 

The Business Intelligence Analyst I is responsible for executing requirements assessment, data analysis, report writing and business support for reporting, dashboards and data analytics associated with Marketing, Product Management, Sales and other areas of Insight. The Business Intelligence Analyst Sr is responsible for the development of effective and efficient reporting processes and controls. This position will drive profits and cut costs. 

 

What you’ll do at Insight 

  • Be the first Insight point of contact for reporting and data questions 

  • Build Complex Reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc data files to support a broad range of business needs 

  • Provides interpretation of data and reporting results 

  • Understands the business issues and data challenges of Insights organization and industry 

  • Analyzes business processes and performs needs assessments in an effort to align Business Intelligence technology solutions with business initiatives 

  • Validate that deliverables meet business need and requirements 

  • Work with cross functional users to understand data needs and map needs to reporting / BI capabilities  

  • Facilitate reporting or data inquiry or issue resolution sessions with Functional Users and technical team 

  • Define,  implement, and manage data and reporting process and standards 

  • Proactively identify, analyze, and recommend reporting and analytics process changes and improvements across the organizations systems and procedures. 

  • Back up support for other team members to assist with system questions or support. 

  • Mentor and train Business Intelligence Analysts and Business Reporting Super Users. 

  • Provide guidance on data requirements, data availability, and Reporting capabilities to Insight users  

 

What you’ll need to join Insight  

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university.   

  • Minimum 2 years in a dynamic business environment conducting analysis, requirements definition, and reporting support.   

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience producing reporting and data visualizations in addition to supporting analytical and ad-hoc analysis with SAP Business Warehouse or Business Objects, or other Business Intelligence platform.  

  • Preferably some experience with a products and services reseller.  

  • Previous experience with SAP ECC and CRM preferred.  

  • Communicate effectively and credibly with all organizational levels, with the specific ability to gain trust, draw out needs, creatively propose ideas, and immediately and expertly resolve conflicts and concerns.   

  • The Business Intelligence Analyst shall pursue continuing professional education in the areas of business analysis, data analysis, and technical report writing skills through course training, self-study, participation in professional organizations such as ASUG, etc.  

  • Must have successful experience with mentoring and training other Business Intelligence Analysts.
