Buyer I

Location: This is a hybrid opportunity where you will work once a week in the office. Our office location is at 10th and 11th Floor Robinsons Cyber Omega, Pearl Drive, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines 1605.

 

Now is the time to bring your expertise to the Buyer I role for a Fortune 500 Solutions Integrator where success and fulfillment go hand in hand. You will be at the forefront of executing procurement operations that support Insight’s cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, and intelligent‑edge solutions to ensure our clients are future‑ready.

 

As a Buyer I, you will be responsible for the procurement and management of manufacturer and publisher product lines while supporting Insight’s operational and business strategy. This includes handling supplier relationships, resolving operational issues, ensuring data accuracy, and providing exceptional internal client service. You will collaborate across teams to meet business goals and be cross‑trained within your pod for broader operational support.

As a Buyer I, you will get to:

Procurement Operations

  • Create and execute purchase orders (POs)
  • Process goods receipts (GR) for shipped or invoiced POs
  • Reconcile invoice variances in partnership with Accounting and suppliers
  • Manage ticketing queues related to lead times, pricing, and vendor inquiries within SLAs
  • Support programs involving warranties, special pricing, and software licensing
  • Fulfill manual dropship requests
  • Participate in team training and operational meetings
  • Cross‑train to support teammates within the pod
  • Use Microsoft Teams, ticketing systems, and email for timely communication
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Supplier & Material Management

  • Engage suppliers directly for PO management and issue resolution
  • Build strong supplier relationships aligned with Insight’s values: Hunger, Heart, Harmony
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, freight, and expedited delivery
  • Follow up on open supplier issues
  • Review backlog reports and stay updated on program or policy changes
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Strategic Procurement

  • Track inbound shipments and maintain accurate ETAs in the ERP
  • Resolve shipment issues such as shortages, mis‑deliveries, and lost shipments
  • Coordinate with Buyer II roles to reorder stock when needed
  • Provide tracking and carrier information to internal teams
  • Assist with price protection activities
  • Set proactive allocation notifications
 

We are looking for a Buyer I with:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or any field, from a four-year College or University, or at least 2nd year in College completed
  • At least two years of experience in a buyer, purchasing, or customer service‑related role with global experience
  • Inventory procurement experience highly preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to interpret business documentation and technical procedures
  • Strong professional communication skills
  • Ability to present information to vendors, managers, and internal customers
  • Strong customer service orientation, with professionalism in sensitive situations
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel preferred); SAP experience is a plus

  • Proven track record of success in Procurement or a closely related field (not entry‑level)
