About the role
The Category Data and Report Analyst will be responsible for collaborating and supporting the Partner/Category Manager(s) who is managing and developing the relationship between Insight and its strategic partners. The Category Analyst’s primary function will be to provide the Category Team with internal sales reporting, analysis, and market trend data to help increase sales and profitability.
This role demands a blend of analytical rigor, project management, and cross-functional collaboration — amplified by the fluent, everyday use of AI tools to work faster, surface deeper insights, and scale individual output. We're looking for someone who treats AI as a core part of their workflow, not an afterthought: using it to accelerate analysis, draft and refine deliverables, and automate repetitive tasks so they can focus on higher-value thinking.
Along the way, you will get to:
Data Analysis & Business Intelligence
- Actionable Insights: Build and maintain Power BI dashboards using simple to complex datasets to track performance and identify growth opportunities.
- Custom Reporting: Develop ad-hoc data files and specialized reports critical for Category and Partner Management leadership.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct competitive pricing analysis and cost evaluations to ensure market relevancy.
Strategic Support & Presentation
- Business Reviews: Prepare high-impact QBR (Quarterly Business Review) and MBR (Monthly Business Review) PowerPoint presentations for internal leadership and external partner meetings.
- Category Updates: Synthesize complex data into clear "Category Management Updates" to keep stakeholders informed of trends and performance.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as a point of contact for basic pricing, product, and process inquiries from partners and internal teams.
- Sales Support: Assist with account mapping and identifying account owners for emerging sales opportunities.
- Innovation: Proactively identify process bottlenecks and suggest scalable solutions to improve team efficiency.
- Cultural Alignment: Embody and exemplify Insight’s core values: Hunger, Heart, and Harmony.
Operational Excellence & Project Management
- Project Management: Project manage cross-functional initiatives, ensuring stakeholder alignment and on-time delivery of key milestones.
- Inventory & Pricing Coordination: Collaborate with Partner Managers, and the Procurement Team to align negotiated costs and inventory levels.
Be AmbITious: This opportunity is not just about what you do today but also about where you can go tomorrow. When you bring your hunger, heart, and harmony to Insight, your potential will be met with continuous opportunities to upskill, earn promotions, and elevate your career.
