About the role
As a Credit Control Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising and motivating the EMEA Credit Control team, driving forward the recovery of fees in line with agreed percentages. You will ensure the team has sufficient skills, knowledge, and experience to carry out their duties while developing effective relationships with key contacts and clients. This position requires a strong ability to manage risk, ensure the timely collection of overdue debt, and provide the highest levels of service to both internal teammates and external clients.

- Supervise and motivate the team, promoting teammate satisfaction through mentoring, development, and career planning to create a high-performing team with a strong succession benchmark.
- Manage the timely collection of all debts and payments in accordance with Insight’s credit control procedures.
- Lead Credit Controllers to achieve cash collection targets and minimise aged/bad debt through effective collection activity and maintenance of good working relationships.
- Negotiate payment schedules, encourage early settlement of outstanding debt, and escalate non-payment and insolvency cases.
- Periodically review outstanding debts, recommend the write-off of small and/or bad debts, and make provisions for handling doubtful debts.
- Reconcile nominated client accounts and maintain the accuracy of client account balances using appropriate systems.
- Review held orders and release them within agreed service level agreements, operating specified ‘stop’ and ‘release’ activities on client accounts.
- Ensure queries are resolved efficiently and effectively by acting as a point of escalation.
- Drive an improvement in Days Sales Out (DSO) and ensure 120+ credit balances are proactively managed each quarter.
- Suggest and implement improvements to reporting and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant audits (including SOX), regulations, and legislation.

What we're looking for
- Educated to degree level or can demonstrate equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrable experience of managing and motivating a high-performing team within a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Proven team leader experience – driving passion, motivation, and energy throughout the team.
- High level of written and spoken English with the ability to simplify and explain complex issues to a range of audiences.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- Excellent organisational skills, prioritising and working to tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
- High-level strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A demonstrable record of establishing and maintaining a strong and effective performance culture.
Nice to have:
- Holds relevant professional Credit & Collection qualification, accreditation, or certification (such as NVQ/ Diploma).
- Previous experience of using Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience of working within a statutory legal and/or regulatory framework.
