About the role

• Support the team manager in ensuring sprint planning and work throughput are progressing on track.
• Attend working sessions to document/refine complex requirements submitted for reporting
• demands, working with functional stakeholders and cross-functional team members to ensure data
• and data structure allow for effective and accurate reporting.
• Design, build, test and train users on the solution to ensure that once in production, it can be effectively
• used and understood.
• Follow best practice guidance to designing and implementing a solution, from requirements receipt
• to end the solution release.
• Follow agile methodology to deliver a solution iteratively and at pace.
• Support other engineers in the team to grow and develop their skills and experience in data
• intelligence.
• Propose new solutions/technologies and best practices to team managers and principal engineers
• to drive improvements for the team internally, to expand on automation, and increase effectiveness
• of the team.
• Teach, train, coach, and mentor teammates; promoting teammate satisfaction and enabling
• career progression.
• Support teammates with issues and help them to identify creative solutions to sometimes complex
• challenges.
  Manage larger and/ or more complex projects and deliver with a high degree of efficiency,
• autonomy, and performance. Ensure solutions comply with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR). Complete relevant
• impact assessments and liaise with Infosec and DPO (as applicable)
• Deputise as required to support the team manager and ensure continuity of work. Support triaging of new work requests.
• Work in a collaborative and agile manner to deliver a solution which adds value and purpose to the business.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience in Data engineering is required.
• Proficient experience in three or more of the following cloud technologies:
• Databricks Azure: Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Warehouse and Azure Data Factory or like cloud
• technologies: AWS or GCP Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure qualification or equivalent
• Working knowledge and practice of Python and SQL is a must 
• Experience in scripting ETL solutions using one of the following (Python, Java, PowerShell). Proficient in Self-Service Visualisation BI Tools: Power BI or like technologies such as: Qlik, Tableau, Spotfire Understanding and practice of Agile Methodology / Jira / Confluence. Data Modelling CI/CD Pipeline Creation, and the ability to interpret
