BASIC FUNCTION

Service Accountant is a dynamic and detail-oriented corporate accounting position, requiring an accounting background and an understanding of general ledger accounting coupled with large company business process knowledge. The successful candidate will also possess strong interpersonal and writtencommunication skills and embrace a team environment.  

The position focuses on services business accounting and analysis and reports to the Manager, Accounting

What you’ll do at Insight 

• Prepare and document journal entries and related account reconciliations. 
• Assist with the month-end close and consolidation process through collaboration with functional business leaders and corporate accounting personnel. 
• Apply the principles of generally accepted accounting principles to ensure proper recognition of revenue and operating expenses. 
• Analyze and describe balance sheet and operating expense fluctuations relating to distinct business departments. 
• Assist with internal and external audit requests and prepare internal control documentation. 
• Identify and drive continuous process improvement efforts

What you’ll need to join Insight 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Chartered Accountant preferred
• 2+ years of experience preferred
• Strong accounting and analytical skills with ability to learn US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Willingness to adopt a growth mindset with natural curiosity to learn and identify opportunities for process improvement 
• Ability to understand processes end-to-end. Seeing the big pictures allows understanding of the upstream and downstream impacts 
• Embrace the “yes and” mindset including a willingness to help and be a part of the solution. 
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with various organizational levels
• Self-motivated in a deadline-oriented environment
• Demonstrated ability to obtain understanding for expectations to efficiently manage individual time and tasks
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed
• Effectively work in a team environment
