About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in US payroll processing and a deep understanding of US payroll laws and regulations. As a Payroll Specialist I, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements, and providing support for payroll-related inquiries.
As a Payroll Specialist you will:
- Processes bi‑weekly/semi-monthly payroll for US employees
- Applies pay changes (salary updates, bonuses, commissions, overtime, deductions)
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws
- Reviews payroll reports for accuracy, discrepancies, and audit readiness
- Provide accurate and timely responses to payroll-related inquiries received via the payroll inbox
What we’re looking for
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum 1 - 2 years’ experience processing US Payroll. Understanding US laws and regulations.
- Experience with US payroll administration, tax and/or garnishments preferred.
- Demonstrated ability working in a deadline orientated environment
- Must be able to handle employee issues in a professional and timely manner. Accuracy is a must.
- Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active team member.
