Technical Specialist – Data Scientist

 

Location: This is a hybrid opportunity where you’ll work 1 day in the Perth office, 4 days a week from home or depending on agreement with your management.

As a Technical Specialist – Data Scientist in the Data & AI Division with Insight, you’ll join us where we are viewed as trusted advisors by clients. Acts as a team lead on smaller engagements.  The Technical Specialist is responsible for working directly with customers to deliver and execute Insight’s current and future services offerings.  The Technical Specialist will also be responsible for assisting with the development of Intellectual Property (IP) in their expertise areas and participating in presales activities as subject matter experts.

As a Technical Specialist – Data Scientist you’ll get to:

  • Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets to extract actionable insights.
  • Develop and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to solve business problems and improve decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives and identify opportunities to leverage data and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Create detailed reports and visualizations to communicate findings and
  • Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to design data solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Coordinate with users to understand data needs and delivery of data with a focus on data quality, data reuse, consistency, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve data science processes and outcomes.

We’re looking for a Technical Specialist – Data Scientist with:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Pyspark, and or SQL
  • Generative AI: Expertise developing solutions using generative AI services like Azure Open AI, Gemini and Amazon Bedrock. Knowledge and experience using popular frameworks for developing AI agents such as Autodev and Crew
  • Experience building Power BI models and visualizations with solid understanding of DAX and Power BI visualization techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make data-driven decisions.
  • Extensive experience working with large data sets with hands-on technology skills to design and build robust data architectures.
