The Technical Solution Associate (TSA) works with the Insight Account Executive (AE) & Software Account Executive (SWAE) to manage and grow partner sales opportunities within an assigned region and/or market(s). The TSA will focus on achieving sales and profit goals through Pre-Sales verbal and written interaction with the clients, account planning, partner teaming and account team engagement, as well as solution development. This position leverages personal technical knowledge as well as available internal/external organizational resources to develop and propose partner solutions to clients. The TSA is considered a technical expert that will obtain the certifications necessary to support required areas of expertise. The incumbent skills are directed at the technical knowledge, solution selling strategies and best practices of how to position specific technologies to clients.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Provide support on partner sales opportunities brought forward by Insight AEs and SWAEs. Provide engagement throughout the sales process, including: Discovery, client Q&A, project scope identification, signed contractual agreement (when necessary), and project delivery.
  • Serve as an expert technical resource for the AE/SWAEs and Sales Specialist.
  • Consult with internal/external clients on partner related products and services.
  • Engage in demand generating activities with both Insight AE/SWAE and partner.
  • Build strong relationships with Insight and partner teams. Attend regular meetings.
  • Work with AE/SWAEs in assessing customer needs via conference calls, and email.
  • Develop and present technically valid solutions to the end-user by utilizing specific configuration tools. Conduct technology demonstrations and white boarding sessions with clients. Utilize MS PowerPoint for client presentations.
  • Understand client’s business objectives and technical needs in order to identify scope of the project and deduce the solution and delivery.
  • Perform required research and investigation to identify and create thorough, accurate technical solution proposals based on client requirements.
  • Attend key partner events and training sessions.
  • Create scopes of work for solution proposals.
  • Maintain professional relationships with AEs/SWAEs, partner, and clients.
  • Represents Insight in a professional and business-like manner and communicates effectively with Insight associates and stakeholders.
  • Some travel required.
  • Additional duties as assigned.



Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or related selling experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three-plus years of experience in positions related to field sales and technical solutions  support.
  • Advanced level of understanding in VDI and similar technologies.
  • Preferred: Completion of technical/sales training & certification in relevant areas of technology.




  • Ability to effectively present information to clients.
  • Ability to create detailed PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex business and technical documents, including client Requests for Proposal.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write effectively and professionally using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and/or persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to clients, top management and/or boards of directors.


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general, technical procedures, or regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and/or business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively position, present and sell technical solutions. Must be able articulate technical

solutions in “scaled-down” manner to non-technical personnel.

  • Ability to demo products / solutions.
  • Ability to utilize Citrix technical tools related to sales proposal creation.

Salary Range - $70,000 to $90,000 with a compensation variable plan
