Software Contracts Specialist

BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB

The Software Contracts Specialist continually works to gain better knowledge on the licensing programs that they support.  The teammate has a good understanding of the manufacturer licensing programs and their requirements and a basic understanding of the products sold by those manufacturers.  The teammate works with Insight Account Executives and support departments to indirectly assist Insight’s customers with contract support.

  • Review customer contracts to ensure Insight can/will comply.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are established and enforced regarding contract fulfillment throughout Insight.
  • Review final contracts for accuracy.
  • Manage contract paperwork flow and contract files.
  • Setup and maintain contracts in CMD.
  • Setup parts and product pools as needed to assist the Data Team during peak periods.
  • Build and maintain Publisher relationships.
  • Stay current on program changes, return policies, new licensing programs, and pricing changes. Communicate changes as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and participate in departmental team, operational and training meetings.
  • Develop and maintain a relationship with Licensing Advisors and Licensing Specialists.
  • Back-up other team members in their absence by having knowledge of their programs and their job functions.
  • Complete various projects as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma and relevant work experience within the IT or Software industry; college degree preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently. They must be an effective multi-tasker with strong organization and time management skills.  Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments is essential. The ability to identify and use resources to achieve deliverables is needed.  The ability to read and understand documents and technical information is critical.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have a strong Excel skillset.
