Product Specialist

The Product Specialist, through specialist knowledge and focus, provides expert product advice and is held accountable for the growth of a defined product portfolio. The Product Specialist proactively drives growth across the portfolio and collaborates with internal sales and technical teams in order to support them in winning new opportunities.

 

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Previous IT industry experience within the IT infrastructure industry, gained in either a partner, reseller, or services business
  • Holds relevant professional qualification and or accreditation (such as a Sales Methodology Certification, Microsoft Licensing sales expert)
  • High level of written and spoken English
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Extensive client facing sales experience, able to win client confidence and deliver client demonstrations with credibility and professional authority
  • Experience of delivering discovery workshops, client Immersion experiences, value calculators, and IT roadmaps
  • Experience mapping RFI/RFP requirements to software solutions
  • Experience of scoping, managing, and executing client pilots and ‘Proof of Concepts’
  • Demonstrates knowledge of modern business processes and the impact of leading-edge IT infrastructure
  • Outstanding presentation skills and demonstrable gravitas with the clear ability to engage with high profile client organisations at c-level
  • A team player who can engage and work successfully within a mutually supportive, diverse team structure across multiple locations
  • Evidence of successful performance to target in a sales or solutions environment
  • Ability to write detailed and complex business cases and proposals

 

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Maintain up to date and relevant product knowledge, accreditations, and professional know- how by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and participating in professional groups and organisations.
  • Ensure deep qualification of client requirements in order to be able to shape and respond to a client’s needs.
  • Guide sales and technical team members to support opportunities including the mapping RFI/RFP requirements, business case construction and scoping, and the management and execution of customer pilots and ‘Proof of Concepts’.
  • Contribute to the sales cycle, participate in client calls, facilitate on-site product demonstrations, value discovery workshops, and client immersion experiences.
  • Generate new business and follow up on implementations to ensure satisfaction and identify potential additional opportunities.
  • Proactively grow the sales pipeline, generate own leads, and penetrate targeted accounts.
  • Accountable for the achievement of the gross profit and business targets for the product within their scope of responsibility.
  • Build and maintain client relationships and ensure the client is satisfied with the level of interaction; leading to an enhanced relationship with the account executive.
  • Provide accurate and timely weekly reporting of the pipeline, forecast and activities.
  • Conduct regular training for Sales teams and run regular education sessions in order to improve product knowledge and deal conversion rates.
  • Build successful relationships with partners and vendors to ensure successful delivery of end-to-end solutions.
