Position Overview

The Associate Solutions Principal (“Associate SP”) will work within a US services presales organization that fixates on positioning strategic Infrastructure and cloud solution sales from a professional services vantage, naturally creating product revenue. The candidate will possess solution sales knowledge of processes and outcomes through the origination and closing of services sales opportunities. Incumbents will be seen as an advisor to both account team and the solution project teams and are seen as the client advocate that analyze and design technical and long-term strategies that support strategic client opportunities. In addition, the Associate Solution Principal provides training and technical support to other Associate Solution Principals, sales team members, and service delivery as it pertains to the client solution. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the sales pursuit team with Solution Principals or independently in underserved regions with new and existing clients to educate and propose packaged and repeatable offers
  • Support identification of business and technical requirements for solution framework and service strategy
  • Provide pre-sales support, communicating core service offerings to clients at the C-suite and VP level
  • Manage the deal engagement consisting of internal client personnel for solution design, solution roadmap, win strategy, profitability, risk, and consultant utilization
  • Work with internal personnel to define service opportunities, and templates, and standard work products to meet internal and external delivery expectations
  • Propose the optimal prepackaged solution or assist clients in minimizing options based on client’s needs, solution specifications, and applicable regulations.
  • Independently run sales campaigns with account teams or directly to existing clients or marketing leads based upon corporate priorities or marketing efforts, especially in commercial accounts
  • Be responsible for the services sales motion and closing business in the commercial and acquisition sectors
  • Manage requests from Solution Presales Principals and Architects to create Statements of Work (SOW) from technical inputs, verify the pricing calculator, process, and work with delivery to handoff the documents and staffing requests
  • Design and approve Statements of Work and provide solution program, Q.A., and oversight for assigned regions
  • Communicate and position core service offerings
  • Follow-up on short-duration services engagements with the Client and sales teams for incremental services, products, and solution offerings
  • Write proposal components or letters of understanding, as needed, and responds to RFPs and other marketing situations.
  • Provide weekly sales forecasts and pipeline management, regular reporting, imagine creative ways to provide customer value, and stay abreast of status/details for each campaign and opportunity.

 

 

What you’ll need to join Insight

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or demonstrated performance in a technical work environment is required
  • Minimum two 5 years of experience in an OEM, channel partner (VAR), or equivalent inside sales with at least two years of experience in cloud, enterprise server, storage, or software
  • Legal document (SOW, contract, or otherwise) process knowledge.
  • Ability to quickly respond to tactical requests for proposals balancing the needs of the organization, along with an ability to triage small to mid-sized projects with repeatable technical proposals from existing repositories
  • Previous consulting/professional services experience is required. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate both technical and abstract concepts in a clear and concise manner a must. 
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively required.
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively. 
  • Ability to interface effectively with client executives in a professional and businesslike manner is a must. 
  • Experience training and mentoring of peers. 
  • Must have formal sales training, from OEM, service provider or relevant work experience.  
  • Must have prior experience in areas of solution architecting, client engagement, management, recruiting, mentoring, training, staff development, etc.
  • Running inside sales marketing or solution campaigns with predefined existing clients experience, preferred
  • Hands-on experience in crafting responses to RFP/RFIs or bids, preferred
  • Experience being on a commission plan with a successful track record, or have had defined targets/goals which impact your bonus or OKR (Objective and key results), preferred
