Regional Sales Director

Position Overview

As a Sales Director at Insight, you will lead regional revenue growth by guiding a team of high-performing Account Executives and shaping the sales strategy for your assigned market. This role is responsible for driving pipeline development, strengthening customer and partner relationships, coaching sellers in a matrixed environment, and ensuring Insight delivers meaningful business outcomes for new and existing clients. You will serve as a strategic leader who connects market opportunity, team execution, and customer value to accelerate profitable growth.

What you’ll do at Insight

  • Lead a regional sales team of approximately 7–10 sellers, setting clear direction and accountability for revenue growth, pipeline development, account strategy, opportunity management, market planning, and partner engagement.
  • Engage directly with large and strategic accounts, supporting executive-level customer conversations, sales presentations, and solution development that address complex business needs.
  • Hire, develop, mentor, and coach Account Executives, building sales capability through performance management, development planning, training support, and ongoing leadership guidance.
  • Translate corporate goals into actionable regional sales strategies, providing market insight and leadership input to help align current execution with future growth objectives.
  • Manage regional budgets and expenses with disciplined ownership of P&L goals, ensuring resources are aligned to performance priorities and profitable growth.

What you’ll need to join Insight

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of proven sales experience in the high-tech industry, preferably within data storage, with at least 2+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing sales coverage models, distribution systems, or multi-site sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, sales forecasting, territory management, and the business discipline required to lead a regional sales organization.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies, motivate teams, influence across a matrixed organization, and lead through change.
  • Ability to travel regionally, based on business and customer needs.
