SLED Compliance Specialist

Position Overview

This position will focus on daily administration of assigned contracts and compliance activities to ensure their successful completion and accuracy. The SLED Compliance Specialist is empowered to work directly with SLED Compliance management and Teammates on assigned contracts, escalate issues to team lead or management, execute best practices and input into process enhancements.  Diplomatic communication and attention to detail are two key functions of this position.

 

What you’ll do at Insight

  • Develop and maintain the ability to research answers to a broad range of questions related to SLED orders, internal and external systems, contracts, processes and clients.
  • Acquire and retain broad understanding of all SLED contracts in order to assist sales in selling from those contracts.
  • Administer agent and teaming partner programs as assigned.
  • Administer general contract management tools (contract module, GCMT, etc) for assigned contracts.
  • Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of SAP, Web Site(s) and related tools used to ensure accuracy of work performed.
  • Analyze data submitted by contract manufacturers/publishers for accuracy and impact on assigned contracts.
  • Determine or verify monthly contract fee accruals on assigned contracts.
  • If applicable, ensure reporting and fee payment processes occur within mandated deadlines.
  • Develop and prepare contract-required documents and pricelists.
  • If applicable, assist in technical IT developmental efforts, including testing, rollouts and triaging. 
  • If applicable, download manufacturer/publisher pricelists, prepare for use, and manage data accordingly. 
  • If applicable, manage special costs from manufacturers for assigned contracts are thoroughly understood, implemented in the system and conveyed to sales and finance.
  • If applicable, ensure that hard-sourcing for vendors that require it on assigned contracts is properly set up and communicated to the appropriate internal resources.
  • Identify, analyze, and recommend business process changes and improvements in departmental systems and processes.
  • Maintain contract files and databases, contract documents and contract files on assigned contracts.
  • Ensure that accurate record taking and document storage occur on all assigned activities for audit purposes.
  • Manage co-op purchasing programs, if applicable, on assigned contracts.
  • Must at times work nights and weekends to meet client (internal and external) deadlines.
  • Occasional business travel may be required.
  • Manage internal and external client communication professionally. 

 

Contract Compliance

  • Conduct various internal audits in order to insure contract compliance on assigned contracts.
  • Ensure contract compliance on all assigned contracts.
  • Have general understanding of legal and contract management processes to mitigate risk to company.
  • Maintain tracking system of internal audits performed.
  • Participate in contract and/or program reviews conducted by clients.
  • Perform internal audits on sales quotes and orders for contract compliance.
  • Responsible for accurately determining accruals for contract fees and making payment to the appropriate parties as assigned.
  • Understanding of when escalation of contract issues to higher management is necessary.

 

Contract Liaison

  • Ability to interface knowledgably with SLED Government contracting personnel including contract specialists, contracting officer technical representatives and contracting officers.
  • Ability to interface with public sector channel representatives at manufacturers that are on assigned contracts.
  • Ability to interface with sales, sales management and other internal departments to ensure that the best possible working relationships are built and maintained.

 

What you’ll need to join Insight

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of 3 years industry experience in contract or program management
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and IT reseller and federal contract administration experience preferred.
  • Must operate at the highest moral and ethical standards
  • Position requires an individual with strong organizational skills who is analytical, accurate, timely and detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and follow-through on tasks with minimal supervision 
  • Power user of MS Outlook, Word, Access and Excel 
  • Strong mathematical abilities required.
  • Position requires underlying understanding of IT technology.
