Microsoft Teams Engineer

Insight Enterprises is seeking a Microsoft Teams Senior UC Engineer whos primary role will be providing architectural support and infrastructure support to the management and infrastructure team for the Microsoft Teams environment. Since this role is geared towards a technical individual, the candidate should have most/all the required skills and experience in a wide range of technologies and not just Unified Communications. The position is responsible for the design, selection, implementation, integration, management, user experience and retirement of Collaboration and Communication technology. The position works closely with the IT team and business partners to deliver consistently excellent user experiences and technology experiences for our staff, members, and community.

 

The ideal candidate should possess advanced Unified Communications knowledge. The position requires intermediate experience using Microsoft Office products. Candidate must have good verbal and written communications skills as well as good customer service skills. Candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks with shifting priorities and possess good analytical skills. The candidate should be a fast learner, self-sufficient, and have a logical thought process to carrying out tasks/projects. Although the role will be focused mainly on Microsoft Teams, Cisco experience would be beneficial for integration between the two vendors.

 

***Please note: This is a Hybrid role requiring to be on-site 2-3 days a week at either the NY, NY  or  San Francisco, CA office.
 
Responsibilities:
 
· Design and implementation of Microsoft Direct routing
· Design and implementation of Microsoft calling and meetings
· Integration with existing Cisco UC environment
· Integration with Cisco VC meeting rooms
· Work with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on implementation, optimization and security of Microsoft Teams
    · Carry out maintenance/upgrades on all Infrastructure
    · Own analysis of new technologies from start to finish
    · Carry out security review of infrastructure and applications
· Research, analyze, recommend and implement new software, hardware, tools, systems and processes to provide state-of-the-art collaboration experience.
    · Document procedures and processes
· Develop and maintain user guides, technical guides, project plans and any other system related documentation for respective system
    · Create knowledge base articles for support teams
    · Offer thoughts and solutions on improving current technology
    · Escalate issues to vendors
    · Provide metrics/reports for conferencing services
    · Ability to function in a fast-paced organization
· Adhere to the design, programming and application standards as setup by the company. Including compliance with all firm and departmental policies and procedures.
 
 
 
Required skills:
· Microsoft Certification (Teams Administrator/Teams Voice Engineer)
    · Ability to establish and maintain a client trust and confidence
    · Good written and verbal communication skills.
    · Good troubleshooting skills
    · Self-sufficient, can own an issue and work on it till completion
    · Basic knowledge of the financial services industry
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Teams
· Advanced knowledge of Direct Routing solution for Microsoft Teams
· Advanced knowledge of Session Border Controllers (Cisco Cube/Audiocodes – deployment and configuration)
· Advanced knowledge of SIP Trunking solutions
· Understanding of Microsoft licensing and assignment
· Experience with the following: Enterprise voice, PSTN Calling and Conferencing, Persistent Chat
· Experience of recording solutions with Microsoft Teams
· M365 and Modern Workplace technologies
· Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting tools (WireShark etc)
· Log analysis from Microsoft Teams client
· Advanced knowledge of Call Quality Dashboard
· Knowledge of H.323 & SIP Protocols
· Knowledge of NAT & Firewall Traversal
· Knowledge of VMware architecture
· Knowledge of Microsoft Server environment (2012, 2016)
· Knowledge of Citrix VDI environment
· Knowledge of MAC OSX environment
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment (Windows 10)
· Knowledge of MobileIron (MDM) environment
· Knowledge of Networking technologies (Switches, Routers, F5 load balancers, DNS, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, QoS)
· Experience with Microsoft Support (raising cases, escalating)
 

Desirable skills: 
· Knowledge of Enterprise Applications
· Knowledge of Azure permissions
· Advanced Excel skills
· Programming/Scripting experience (Visual Basic/Python/Powershell etc)
· Rest API knowledge (POSTMAN experience a plus)
· Documentation skills (Visio a plus)
