Security Consultant

By joining Insight as a Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) you will enter a tech-savvy and highly collaborative world.  We provide the hardware, software and support-services for our customers' most critical IT objectives.  As such, we're looking for a capable consultant that functions as a security consultant aiming to address specific security problems and requirements with big data solutions.  Security SME’s provide best practices and innovative solutions to customer Security Operations departments. 

 

Please note, this is a fully remote role, with an expected duration of 6 months, an anticipated start date of early December, and a target compensation of $130-$140/hr on our W2.  We are unable to sponsor for this role.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Performs detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments to design customized data collection and analysis capabilities for our customers.
  • Design and configure analytical solutions for informative decision making of C-level leadership.
  • Architect and configure data collection solutions to complete recommended solutions.
  • Organizes and documents use cases, solutions and recommendations.
  • Performs research, collection and output of complex and diverse information and data.
  • Effectively articulates pros and cons of various technologies and platforms.
  • Timely responds to customer needs, feedback and service requests.
  • Manage project activities where applicable.

 

What you need to join:

  • A firm understanding of major operating systems like Linux and MS Windows.
  • A basic understanding of major scripting/programming languages: Python, Java, Bash, JavaScript and SQL. Traditional programming background not required, just a basic understanding of the concepts.
  • A firm understanding of networking components and architectures such as TCP/UDP, IP, Routing, Switching and network architectures.
  • Experience creating and configuring dashboards or analytical reports.
  • Creative and analytical problem-solving skills individually and in a group environment.
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced agile development environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extended knowledge of programming languages: Python, JavaScript, SQL and Bash.
  • Proven development work with business intelligence technologies such as Splunk Enterprise, Cribl, Data Bricks, AppDynamics, Snowflake, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in statistical based analysis.
  • Highly analytical and data driven decision making.
  • Proven track record of delivering multiple successful cross-discipline IT projects.
  • Able to influence department, director-level and VP-level clients.
  • Knowledge of rules, regulations and procedures related to business operations.
  • Explains work performed in plain language.
  • Capable of adapting to change with minimal or no advance notice, including changes in how business is conducted and work is accomplished, with no diminishment in work performance.
  • Able to identify potential new business opportunities to build value for Concanon and client.
  • Able to analyze and interpret information in both statistical and narrative form.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments used in designing solutions.
