Agile Consultant – Agile Coach

We are looking for an Agilist who is experienced with coaching in these fields.

Our coaches are a supplementary role that coach, teach, mentor, and facilitate until our clients have developed the continuous improvement habits required to sustain growth on their own. As an Agile Coach, a foundational knowledge in agility and a breadth of ability is expected, but a high level of Emotional Intelligence and knowing how to influence others is crucial. We seek teammates who can handle the variability of different clients and different team makeups with excitement and a passion for promoting successful delivery.

Compensation range: $120-145k + variable compensation

What Our Agile Coaches Do for Our Clients 

  • Help our clients apply Agile principles, values, practices, tools, and frameworks
  • Identify and facilitate experiments through the tenets of empiricism to promote a growth mindset
  • Advocate consistent reflection through techniques like Retrospectives or Kaizens
  • Implement tools to visualize work and create transparency throughout the organization
  • Teach techniques to measure productivity, forecast deliverables, and move work to done
  • Coach and partner with leaders to foster a culture of autonomy and psychological safety
  • Hands on mentoring of agile roles, skills, and practices, e.g., Scrum Master, Product Manager, etc.      Advise on how to break down work to smallest valuable and feasible increment
  • Facilitate workshops, boot camps, trainings, presentations, etc.
  • Guide clients towards agility no matter where they are at in their journey, including predominantly waterfall and hybrid environments

What We Look For 

  • 5+ years of experience working in an agile software development environment
  • Experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role
  • Effective at building relationships and communicating across all levels of an organization 
  • Exceptional communication skills that are tactful, e.g., Crucial Conversations, Radical Candor
  • Embodies a Growth Mindset and leads with curiosity
  • Demonstrate a consultant mindset and high Emotional Intelligence
  • Familiar with multiple methodologies, frameworks, and approaches, e.g., Scrum, XP, Lean, Kanban, DevOps, etc.
  • Excel at identifying and mitigating risk through data-driven analysis
  • Experience with a variety of facilitation techniques, including remote/virtual
  • Ability to identify and understand own sphere of influence at a client, and how to promote change
  • Understand that the journey to agility is rarely a straight line and can manifest in multiple ways
