QA/Automation Analyst

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE JOB

The Automation Analyst is responsible for improving and automating business processes. Working cross functionality, the Analyst will document processes, redesign them as necessary to enable automation, generate detailed requirements and develop the robot.

 

Summary:

Insight is currently looking for an Automation Analyst to join our Robotics Process Automation (RPA) team.   You’ll be working on a well versed agile team to improve and automate business processes company-wide and will be able to have a direct impact with your efforts in the development of scripts and bots.  

 

RPA has been reported by Gartner and others as the fastest growing market in enterprise software.   With the nature of the need to work across teams in this segment, RPA has attracted candidates from former Front-end / Back-end developers, QA testers, and even Business Analysts to continue careers in the field as Bot Masters.

 

Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA with a concentration in Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent experience sourced from on-the-job, bootcamps, internships, etc.  
  • Some programming or sysadmin experience with languages such as C#, Python, JavaScript or Java as the core concepts are a basis of our automated processes.  
  • The desire to improve your developer skills.  Critical thinking and problem solving skills are necessary in order to thrive in this role.
  • Good writing and diagram skills to document processes using products such as Office and Visio.

 

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

  • Exposure with QA testing methodology in some capacity such as unit testing, integration testing, etc. 
  • SAP ECC experience.
  • Some experience with working with APIs.
  • Experience working with text based data files such as XML, JSON, CSV, HTML/DOM, etc.
  • Some experience working in a corporate or equivalent dynamic environment.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Proactively identify, analyze, and recommend business process changes to ensure optimal automation opportunities.
  • Work with process owner and functional team to analyze processes for automation.
  • Document detailed requirements and test plans for bots. 
  • Design, develop bots that maintain highly repeatable and reliable automated processes.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to analyze process for potential errors and code event handling to industrialize the process.
  • Complete end-to-end quality control.
  • Provide on-going support for bots once in production.
  • Identify the need for and plan change management to ensure a seamless transition to process automation.
  • Back up support for other team members to assist with system questions or support.
  • Learn new business processes with little direction.
