Location: Sheffield or Uxbridge Office.
Hybrid role : days a week in office.
Purpose of the Role
The FP&A Business Partner acts as a trusted commercial finance partner to UK stakeholders, providing high‑quality insight, challenge, and decision support across Sales and Operations. The role translates financial performance into clear actions that drive profitability, growth, and disciplined planning.
This position supports the wider UK Commercial Finance leadership team by bringing strong commercial acumen, proactive challenge, and continuous improvement in forecasting, reporting, and insight. The FP&A Business Partner also plays a key role in cross‑functional projects and provides cover for the Finance Manager and FP&A Manager when required.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Commercial Excellence & Profitability
- Lead financial performance management at client, segment, and country level
- Deliver actionable insight to improve growth, margin, and return on investment
- Partner with Sales and Operations to identify efficiency and cost‑saving opportunities
Strategic Pricing & Contract Support
- Provide financial leadership on pricing for new business, renewals, and commercial frameworks
- Ensure strong governance, controls, and profitability analysis
- Support senior stakeholders with deal evaluation and commercial decision‑making
Forecasting & Performance Challenge
- Own the rolling forecast, ensuring quality, accuracy, and robust assumptions
- Challenge drivers, risks, phasing, and variances versus Budget and Prior Year
- Drive corrective actions with Sales Directors and operational leaders
Planning, Budgeting & Investment Appraisal
- Lead preparation of financial plans, budgets, business cases, and investment appraisals
- Ensure plans align to UK priorities and translate into clear KPIs and delivery cadence
Reporting & Executive Storytelling
- Own weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packs
- Provide clear variance analysis and concise commentary
- Present financial insights effectively to leadership forums
Month‑End, Prelims & Financial Hygiene
- Support strong prelims and close discipline
- Ensure accuracy through reconciliations, accruals, and compliance with reporting timelines
Process Excellence & Capability Building
- Continuously improve forecasting, reporting, and planning processes
- Champion automation, standardisation, and best practice
- Coach and support junior FP&A colleagues where applicable

Key Measures of Success
- High‑quality, accurate, and well‑documented forecasts (≥95% accuracy)
- Timely and accurate month‑end submissions with clear variance insight
- Measurable commercial improvements (e.g. margin uplift, efficiency gains)
- Clear, compelling financial storytelling for senior stakeholders
- Delivery of process or automation improvements that reduce manual effort or cycle time
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential Experience
- Strong FP&A or commercial finance background
- Proven business partnering capability with non‑finance stakeholders
- Experience in forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis
Desirable Experience
- Technology, services, or fast‑paced commercial environments
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling
- Strong reporting and dashboard mindset (Power BI exposure beneficial)
- Ability to work across multiple data sources and translate insight into action
Qualifications
- Qualified or strong part‑qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent experience)
